Our growing pediatric dental practice is looking for a friendly, reliable, and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our team!Who We&rsquo;re Looking For:<ul><li>1+ year experience working in a dental office or in a similar role</li><li>Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Creole) is preferred</li><li>Personable, friendly, and great at multitasking</li><li>Displays strong interpersonal skills and has a strong customer service mindset</li><li>Flexible, committed, fun, team focused and great listener who can relate with people</li><li>Experience with pediatric patients preferred</li><li>Strong communication skills and a patient, upbeat attitude!</li></ul>Certifications<ul><li>Dental Assistant certification (as required by state)</li><li>Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification</li><li>Florida Dental Radiography Certification (required)</li><li>Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification in Florida (required)</li></ul>Education<ul><li>High school diploma or GED equivalent</li><li>Graduation from an accredited Dental Assisting Program (preferred)</li></ul>Responsibilities<ul><li>Assist the pediatric dentist during a variety of dental procedures (e.g., cleanings, sealants, fillings, fluoride treatments, extractions)</li><li>Help children feel comfortable and safe during visits</li><li>Prepare treatment rooms and ensure all necessary tools and materials are sterilized and ready</li><li>Take patient records, x-rays, and assist with scheduling and follow-ups</li><li>Provide excellent communication and customer service to kids and their families</li><li>Communicate with front desk, dental assistants, hygienists, and dentist to ensure seamless care</li><li>Use child-friendly language and a gentle approach to explain procedures and oral hygiene</li><li>Take dental x-rays as needed</li><li>Document patient treatment plans, charting, and medical histories accurately</li><li>Manage sterilization and infection control protocols to maintain a clean and safe environment</li><li>Occasionally assist with office activities, giveaways, or educational events geared toward children and oral health awareness</li><li>Please note: this job description is not designed to cover a comprehensive list of duties or responsibilities that are required for this position. Duties and responsibilities may change with or without notice.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>1+ year experience in a dental office (pediatric experience strongly preferred)</li><li>Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, staff, and doctors.</li><li>Attention to detail for accurate data entry and filing processes</li><li>Building and maintaining a positive, welcoming atmosphere for patients.</li><li>Handling high patient volumes, especially during busy times, with ease</li><li>Helping out with additional tasks in the office when needed</li><li>Strong organizational skills</li><li>Professional appearance and positive attitude</li></ul>Physical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
