Pediatric Dentistry of Central Iowa

We are looking for a registered dental assistant who will make our office more efficient and pleasant for patients. You&rsquo;ll ensure excellent customer service to our patients and their parents. Dental assistants should be well-organized with great attention to detail. You should be able to follow instructions and respect dental office regulations. We want you to be skilled in providing direct or indirect patient care and able to make office procedures as smooth as possible. Pay is based on experience.This position will require weekly travel between Ankeny and West Des Moines, as we have 2 locations and one Dentist.Hours are: Mon, Tues, Thurs 7:15 - 4:30, Wed 7:15 - 1pm (to 4:30pm beginning July 1st), Fri 7:15 - 12:00Major holidays are paidMedical with employer contribution to premiumsDental and Vision insurance availableShort/long term disability25k Life insurance paid by employer401K with 3% contribution from the practice, whether or not you contribute, after 90 days2 weeks paid vacation after one yearResponsibilities<ul><li>Prepare customers for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort</li><li>Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed</li><li>Sterilize instruments according to regulations</li><li>Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry</li><li>Undertake lab tasks as instructed</li><li>Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions</li><li>Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked</li></ul>Skills<ul><li>Proven experience as dental assistant</li><li>Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods</li><li>Understanding of health &amp; safety regulations</li><li>Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks like coronal polishing</li><li>Good computer skills</li><li>Excellent communication and people skills</li><li>Attention to detail</li><li>Well-organized and reliable</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timePay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Disability insurance</li><li>Employee assistance program</li><li>Flexible spending account</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Health savings account</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Schedule:<ul><li>Monday to Friday</li><li>Rotating shift</li></ul>License/Certification:<ul><li>Registered Dental Assistant License (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
