Pend Oreille County offers a wide range of optional benefits, we are sure that there is a plan to suit your needs.Job Summary: This position provides legal and administrative support for the District Court Division of the Prosecuting Attorney&rsquo;s Office. Duties include preparing and proofreading legal documents, managing discovery, maintaining case files, assisting attorneys with exhibits and trial preparation, handling reception and phone duties, and processing mail and filings. The role requires frequent interaction with law enforcement, attorneys, court staff, and the public in a professional and courteous manner.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Support attorneys with legal documents, exhibits, filings, and discovery management.</li><li>Maintain case files, databases, and office records.</li><li>Provide reception services, answer phones, and assist the public.</li><li>Process mail, faxes, and office correspondence.</li><li>Perform administrative tasks such as archiving, scanning, and special projects.</li></ul>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:<ul><li>Understanding of legal terminology, procedures, and court rules.</li><li>Strong document preparation, proofreading, and editing skills.</li><li>Ability to type at least 60 wpm, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.</li><li>Proficiency with office software and standard office equipment.</li><li>Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.</li><li>Ability to handle confidential information and work professionally under pressure.</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor&rsquo;s degree or legal secretarial program preferred).</li><li>Minimum of 1 year of legal support experience, or equivalent combination of education/experience.</li><li>Must be 18+, have a valid driver&rsquo;s license, pass background and driving record checks, and complete required tests.</li></ul>Working Conditions:<ul><li>Office and courtroom setting, Monday&ndash;Friday, 8:00 a.m.&ndash;4:30 p.m.</li><li>Frequent deadlines, interruptions, and interaction with the public.</li><li>Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform tasks requiring walking, sitting, speaking, hearing, and vision.</li><li>No telecommuting; occasional county travel and professional meetings required.</li></ul>Behavioral Standards:<ul><li>Professional, ethical, and respectful conduct.</li><li>Team-oriented, proactive, and customer-focused.</li><li>Represents the County positively and builds trust with the community.</li></ul>** Warning: If you are having technical difficulties with our online application submission, you can call our office or email your resume and application to HR@pendoreille.org. **Job Type: Full-timePay: $3,468.15 - $4,378.70 per monthBenefits:<ul><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Employee assistance program</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>Paid sick time</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Retirement plan</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Work Location: In person
