The Material Manager establishes, manages, reviews, and maintains production schedules to ensure the Master Schedule is being executed, effective capacity planning is carried out, accurate inventories are maintained, and shipments are made on time to meet customer expectations. Labor hours, material usage, and machine capacity must continually be balanced and communicated to all essential personnel. In addition, the successful candidate for this position will take ownership of (but not limited to) material procurement, creating purchase orders, and submitting to vendors for supplies and support.</div></div><div></div><div><div><b><br>
Responsibilities</b><b>:</b></div></div><div></div><div><ul><li><div><br>
Schedule all production utilizing ERP and Visual management systems, to include prioritization and coordination between all shifts for smooth transition</div></li></ul></div><p></p><div><div><ul><li><div>
Calculate production needs based on customer shipment requirements</div></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><div>
Create work orders by utilizing customer demand and forecasting</div></li><li><div>
Production schedule development and Production Planning</div></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><div>
Schedule to maintain optimum inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries to meet customer requirements</div></li><li><div>
Purchase necessary parts and supplies to support production schedule (i.e., cardboard, components, etc.&hellip;)</div></li></ul></div></div><div><div><ul><li><div>
Manage vendors and suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, prices, continuity, and delivery</div></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><div>
Maintain supplier scorecards and effectively communicate quarterly results</div></li><li><div>
Manage supplier debits</div></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><div>
Communicate any risk of schedule compliance to Operations Manager, Quality, and Shipping/Receiving Supervisor to come up with a solution.</div></li><li><div>
Along with corporate policies, develop, recommend, and implement purchasing policies and procedures to facilitate the most economical and expeditious method of procuring material.</div></li></ul></div></div><div><div><ul><li><div>
Work cross-functionally with Sales, Quality, and Operations to ensure all new products are set up in Visual properly and in a timely fashion</div></li><li><div>
Develop and maintain good working relationships with key customers.</div></li><li><div>
Generate list of parts weekly to be counted. Email list to Shipping/Receiving Supervisor to complete counts. Investigate and Reconcile inventory differences in Visual.</div></li><li><div>
Track outgoing scrap and record by end of month.</div></li><li><div>
Manage, evaluate, and coach direct reports (i.e Shipping/Receiving Supervisor)</div></li></ul></div></div><div></div><div><div><div><b><br>
End of Month/Year End Duties:</b></div></div><div><ul><li><div>
Close out work orders with quantity received</div></li><li><div>
Verify negative inventory transactions</div></li><li><div>
Complete all receivables and inventory adjustments</div></li><li><div>
Verify all sales transactions are invoiced</div></li></ul></div></div><div><div><ul><li><div>
Run month/year end reports and send to accounts payable</div></li></ul></div><div></div><div><div><b><br>
Requirements:</b></div></div><div></div><div><div><br>
Bachelor or Associates degree desired; not required</div><div>
3-5 years of recent experience with degree; 10+ years recent experience if no degree</div><div>
Proficiency and ability to navigate ERP systems</div></div></div><div><div><div>
Knowledge of steel industry and metal stamping industry desired</div><div>
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)</div></div><div><div>
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel is strongly suggested</div></div><div><div>
Experience in freight scheduling and freight cost negotiation a plus</div><div>
Possess excellent project management, problem solving, and communication skills</div></div></div><div><div><div>
MUST demonstrate the desire and aptitude to take <b>Extreme Ownership</b> of their role</div></div></div></div><p></p>
