Job DescriptionPosition Summary:Assistance with the operation of our lunch cafeteria on campus at our school in Bristol, PA that typically serves 300 people a day. This position is full-time with hours varying between 30 and 40 per week. The schedule includes day-time hours Monday thru Friday, and evening hours on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. This individual will work with 1 other assistant under the guidance and supervision of the Cafeteria Manager. Although the manager is the chef, handling the cash register, and cleaning. The individual must provide a safe, secure and clean environment for students and staff, and must be flexible and able to blend in with the needs of other departments.Key Job Elements:<ul><li>Assure that the Pennco Tech philosophy of quality service to clients is considered in carrying out the duties and responsibilities of this position.</li><li>Accountable (through use and supervision) of register, and the safe handling of cash.</li><li>Assure execution of the cafeteria&rsquo;s short order system. The assistant is given a role for the process and must execute that role to their best ability.</li><li>Assist with opening and closing of cafeteria, when needed.</li><li>Will help unpack and load new deliveries into the storage area of the kitchen. The manager may ask you to assist with &ldquo;checking&rdquo; each item in after delivery, to make sure everything is received.</li><li>Responsible for the organization and proper storage of food/inventory.</li><li>Assist with the cafeteria&rsquo;s cleaning efforts: including mopping, wiping daily and efficiently washing dishes so that meal times aren&rsquo;t interrupted.</li><li>Assist with the cleaning/maintenance of the kitchen&rsquo;s equipment and appliances.</li><li>Under instruction from manager, ensure that Health Board-approved safety policies/procedures are being used throughout the day and reminding the other assistant to do the same.</li><li>Must have ability to work in a fast environment. The students of our school have a designated meal time, so the lunch period is in one large &ldquo;wave&rdquo;.</li></ul>Position Requirements:<ul><li>One (1) year of experience working in a restaurant or cafeteria atmosphere and/or retail establishment.</li><li>Superior communication skills, both written and oral.</li><li>High School Diploma or equivalent.</li><li>Ability to handle multiple tasks.</li><li>Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, stand for long periods of time, and withstand heat.</li><li>Effective problem resolution skills.</li><li>Ability to operate traditional, stand-alone cash register proficiently and count/handle money quickly and in an organized fashion.</li></ul>.Organizational Relationship:Reports to: Cafeteria ManagerInteracts daily with department heads, instructors, and staff.Job Type: Full-timeWork Location: In person
