The Social Media Editor executes EW&rsquo;s strategy, content, and audience development on social platforms. They also work closely with EW&rsquo;s Social Media Director as well as the video, edit, and sales teams in exploring and developing strategy for emerging platforms. This role requires advanced video editing capabilities, including proficiency in short-form, social-first video production, motion graphics, platform-native editing tools, and third-party editing tools (eg. Canva, Kapwing, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Premiere Pro). 
 
In addition to amplifying the work of the EW edit staff, the Social Media Editor will execute social-first or social-only original franchises, including short or platform-specific video series and secure social content from photo shoots, red carpets, and other exclusive opportunities. They should be comfortable conducting interviews both on- and off-camera. The ideal candidate has a strong eye for visual storytelling, a solid understanding of evolving video trends, and can independently conceptualize, shoot, and edit high-performing video content optimized for each platform. 
 
The Social Media Editor will also support EW partnerships such as award shows, tentpole events, parties, panels and screenings, and should be comfortable capturing and quickly turning around high-quality video content from those events. 
 
The social team works closely with our SEO, growth and other audience analysts to understand and strategize how to expand our audience reach and to help future-proof the EW brand with younger audiences.  Salary: New York: $67,000.00 - $80,000.00
 
 
 The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Entertainment Weekly is seeking an Associate Editor to join its digital SEO team. This role focuses on assigning and editing timely content driven by the entertainment and celebrity news cycle, with a strong emphasis on TV, film, and streaming explainers, as well as evergreen entertainment content. The ideal candidate is a sharp editor and digitally savvy pop culture expert with a strong grasp of SEO best practices and performance analytics. 
As part of a fast-paced newsroom, this editor should be comfortable handling 3&ndash;5 edits per day while staying closely attuned to breaking news and emerging trends, and delivering clean, accurate work on tight timelines. This role requires a self-starter who can confidently recruit and manage both internal and freelance writers. This position will also involve working on various projects across different departments and communicating with stakeholders.

About the Team
The Associate Editor will join a small, nimble SEO team focused on identifying daily trending opportunities across the entertainment and celebrity news cycle.
