POSITION SUMMARY
The SQL Developer Business Analyst plays a central role in designing, developing, and optimizing the data systems that support Pero Family Farms&rsquo; continued growth. This position blends SQL development, data modeling, analytics, cloud solutions, and business application administration to ensure our teams have accurate, actionable information.
This is a role for a technical problem-solver&mdash;someone who thrives at the intersection of data, systems, and business operations. You will support everything from enterprise applications to large-scale datasets, helping build solutions that drive efficiency, insight, and strategic clarity across corporate and operational functions.
Requirements:

JOB OVERVIEW
SQL Development<ul><li>
Design, develop, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database functions.</li><li>
Build and maintain SSIS packages to automate data workflows and processes.</li><li>
Ensure efficient, scalable handling of data supporting daily business operations.</li></ul>
Business Application Administration<ul><li>
Administer and maintain core business applications to ensure data integrity and optimal performance.</li><li>
Collaborate with business teams to gather requirements and enhance application functionality.</li><li>
Troubleshoot application issues and drive continuous improvements.</li></ul>
Data Modeling &amp; Solution Architecture<ul><li>
Architect and design robust data models, utilizing Entity-Relationship (ER) diagrams to illustrate data structures.</li><li>
Develop scalable solutions using cloud services, ensuring integration with big data and data lake technologies.</li><li>
Ensure data structures support both operational efficiency and long-term growth.</li></ul>
Big Data &amp; Cloud Technologies<ul><li>
Leverage big data platforms for processing large datasets and extracting valuable insights.</li><li>
Utilize MS Azure, AWS, and Snowflake to design, implement, and manage cloud-based data solutions.</li><li>
Support the development of data lakes and big data initiatives.</li></ul>
API Development &amp; Integration<ul><li>
Leverage and manage APIs to facilitate data integration between various systems and applications.</li><li>
Ensure secure and seamless data exchange across key platforms.</li></ul>
Data Science &amp; Analytics<ul><li>
Apply data science techniques to analyze datasets, perform statistical analysis, and build predictive models.</li><li>
Utilize Python or similar programming languages for data manipulation, reporting, and automation tasks.</li><li>
Deliver clear, actionable reporting to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.</li></ul>
Database Administration<ul><li>
Assist in SQL Server database administration tasks, including performance tuning, monitoring, backup, and recovery operations.</li><li>
Maintain compliance with data security, retention, and regulatory requirements.</li><li>
Contribute to improvements in database reliability, uptime, and long-term performance.</li></ul>
QUALIFICATIONS
Education<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or related field.</li></ul>
Experience<ul><li>
5+ years in SQL development with direct experience building and maintaining SSIS packages.</li><li>
Proven experience in business application administration, system integrations, and data modeling.</li></ul>
Technical Skills<ul><li>
Strong proficiency in SQL and database design principles.</li><li>
Familiarity with cloud platforms, including Azure, AWS, and Snowflake.</li><li>
Working knowledge of big data technologies and data lake architectures.</li></ul>
Programming Skills<ul><li>
Working knowledge of Python or similar languages for automation, analytics, and data processing.</li></ul>
Analytical Skills<ul><li>
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.</li><li>
Ability to clearly communicate complex data concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.</li></ul>
Soft Skills<ul><li>
Collaborative, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities.</li><li>
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</li></ul>
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position collaborates closely with cross-functional teams supporting both corporate and operational environments. Limited travel may be required for project work, training, or stakeholder engagement.
