Summary:

The Sr. Manager / Associate Director, Market Access will play a critical role in shaping and executing Personalis' commercial payer strategy. This individual will lead strategic engagement with national and regional commercial health plans to expand coverage, influence policy, and improve patient access to Personalis' innovative diagnostic solutions.

This role requires a highly strategic, externally facing leader with deep expertise in payer engagement, reimbursement policy, and market access within oncology diagnostics or related healthcare sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Payer Engagement
<ul>
<li>Build and sustain relationships with key decision-makers across national and regional commercial health plans.</li>
<li>Educate stakeholders on Personalis' technologies and clinical value to influence favorable medical policy development and coverage decisions.</li>
</ul>
Cross-Functional Collaboration
<ul>
<li>Partner closely with Medical Affairs, Commercial, Legal/Compliance, and Finance teams to align on access strategies and messaging.</li>
<li>Contribute to enterprise-wide initiatives that support market access and reimbursement success.</li>
</ul>
External Stakeholder Advocacy
<ul>
<li>Represent Personalis in interactions with payer organizations, provider groups, and industry stakeholders.</li>
<li>Support advocacy efforts with professional societies and other external partners to advance coverage and adoption.</li>
</ul>
Access Barrier Mitigation
<ul>
<li>Identify key barriers to patient access and lead initiatives to address them through targeted strategies.</li>
<li>Develop solutions that support providers, payers, public agencies, and professional societies in facilitating appropriate test utilization.</li>
</ul>
Commercial Coverage Monitoring
<ul>
<li>Track and interpret trends in commercial coverage, clinical guidelines, and payer behavior.</li>
<li>Proactively identify and address emerging risks and opportunities.</li>
</ul>
Performance Tracking &amp; Reporting
<ul>
<li>Document payer engagement activities and outcomes.</li>
<li>Deliver actionable insights and measurable results that inform strategy and support organizational goals.</li>
</ul>
Team Support &amp; Leadership
<ul>
<li>Provide leadership and mentorship within cross-functional teams.</li>
<li>Support broader initiatives across Personalis' healthcare and commercial organization.</li>
</ul>
Compliance &amp; Collaboration
<ul>
<li>Ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, company policies, and SOPs.</li>
<li>Foster strong, collaborative relationships with internal teams, customers, contractors, and vendors.</li>
</ul>

<h3 class="jobSectionHeader">Education &amp; Experience</h3>
<ul><li>Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MPH, PhD, or related) strongly preferred.</li>
<li>8+ years of experience in market access, payer relations, or reimbursement strategy within diagnostics, biotech, or healthcare.</li>
<li>Demonstrated success engaging commercial payers and influencing coverage decisions.</li>
</ul>
Knowledge &amp; Skills
<ul>
<li>Deep understanding of U.S. commercial payer landscape, reimbursement processes, and medical policy development.</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of the oncology and diagnostics space is preferred.</li>
<li>Proven ability to translate clinical and economic value into payer-relevant messaging.</li>
<li>Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.</li>
<li>Strong analytical capabilities with experience interpreting policy and coverage trends.</li>
<li>Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.</li>
</ul>

The hiring range for this position is $160,000 to $220,000 per year, which may factor in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. Our full-time regular positions also include an annual performance-based bonus (or a sales incentive plan) and long-term incentive units (equity) provided as part of our compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.

Summary:

Personalis is building its position as a leader in precision oncology and is seeking a Director of Commercial Marketing to assume a key commercial leadership role. This team leader will own the strategic direction and tactical implementation of commercial marketing activities across the full portfolio, including tumor profiling and MRD. The Director will be responsible for a multitude of global marketing activities aimed at building awareness and driving demand across several customer segments. This position will own a broad spectrum of upstream and downstream marketing activities including brand planning, commercial market research, branding, lead generation, website management, creative development, asset development, campaign activation, and multi-channel marketing. This position will also co-own strategic marketing deliverables including go-to-market strategy, customer segmentation, product positioning, and messaging in collaboration with key partners. This leader will oversee a team of marketers to support commercial growth objectives, with the potential to grow and scale a best-in-class team as the business continues to expand.

Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Establish a high-impact and comprehensive brand/ marketing plan that competitively positions the company for commercial success</li>
<li>Build global awareness and drive demand for full portfolio of Personalis products across all customer segments, for all current and pipeline products</li>
<li>Lead all product and portfolio brand planning, ATU/ brand surveys, commercial AdBoards, branding, promotional marketing campaigns, marketing asset and content development, lead generation, media dissemination, multi-channel advertising and promotion, and marketing analytics</li>
<li>Co-own strategic marketing such as go-to-market strategy, customer segmentation, product positioning, and messaging in close partnership with Product Management</li>
<li>Hire, develop, manage, and motivate a high-performing team of marketers by building effective processes and a collaborative culture</li>
<li>Lead corporate level marketing activities such as website and social media management</li>
<li>Lead virtual and in-person marketing events including speaker panels and programs, and webinars</li>
<li>Cultivate a strong partnership with Clinical Sales, Product Management, Medical Affairs, and R&amp;D to contribute to corporate goals and objectives</li>
<li>Develop a strong understanding of customers across HCP segments, including providers, and patients, to create effective positioning and key messages to drive product adoption</li>
<li>Build and maintain business processes and tools over time, including MLR review, document management, and marketing-related CRM platform management</li>
<li>Actively manage the marketing agency relationship and deliverables, ensuring a cost effective approach that is aligned with commercial goals and objectives
</li></ul>Education &amp; Experience:
<ul>
<li>Bachelor's degree in marketing, life sciences, or related field</li>
<li>MBA or advanced degree in Life Sciences (or 2 years of experience in lieu of Master's degree)</li>
<li>8+ years of proven experience in marketing roles of increasing scope and responsibility in the genomics, molecular biology, or molecular diagnostics arenas</li>
<li>Direct NGS and/ or molecular diagnostics experience highly preferred, ideally in MRD or therapy selection/ CGP</li>
<li>Ideal experience marketing clinical products to clinicians/ providers</li>
<li>Demonstrated leadership capability and experience managing and growing a team</li>
<li>Strong creative intuition on design and messaging that resonates with customers, ability to execute plans with attention to detail, and an ability to learn from previous campaigns to improve on performance</li>
<li>Ability to develop and present strategy and brand/ marketing plans. Communicates in a compelling manner that captures and holds others' attention</li>
<li>Demonstrated track record of partnering well with internal peers and external vendors</li>
<li>Proven ability to thrive and be successful in a fast-paced environment</li>
<li>Ability to travel up to 20%</li>
