This position is primarily remote, however candidates may be required to assist attorney with trials and hearing in person at courthouses in Collin County and Dallas County. Petitt Family Law is a woman-owned firm located in McKinney, Texas.. We want to add an experienced paralegal to our litigation team.Ideal candidate requirements:Must have working knowledge of the Texas Family Code, family law processes, pleadings, orders, motions etc.Must have 5 years of experience with a minimum of the last 3 in Texas family law.Must understand how to prioritize and reprioritize your tasks and workload as issues arise during the workweek or day.Must be organized and willing to reorganize as priorities shift.Must have extensive experience with client intake and client counseling in family law matters and a willingness to conduct client intake and counseling as needed.Must be technologically savvy and familiar with MS Suite of programs, using the TFLPM /FormBuilder, Efile Texas, ShareFile, Adobe/Kofax etc. Experience with Clio Manage and Clio Grow is preferred.Must be able to effectively communicate with clients, attorneys, other paralegals, court staff, experts, etc. This role will require you to provide a compassionate ear for clients who need it.Must be tenacious and focused on meeting deadlines for inventories and discovery.Must be able to prepare attorney for hearings, including temporary hearings and trials and mediation. You may be required to attend trials or hearings as needed on cases to manage exhibits, clients and witnesses.Must be able to track all case and internal deadlines on Outlook calendar for attorney and for yourself.Must maintain a strong sense of initiative and be able to work autonomously to complete projects with little oversight. This position is primarily remote. Some court appearances in Collin County and NTX counties will be required.Minimum required billing of 120/hours per month. Salary commensurate with experience.<ul><li>Paid time off-two weeks each year after 90 day probation period completed. Plus 11 Federal/state holidays. We are also closed the week between Christmas and New Years day each year.</li><li>Health and dental, available and partially paid for by employer after 90 day probation term</li></ul>Schedule<ul><li>9:00am to 5:00 weekdays</li></ul>Ability to Commute:<ul><li>McKinney, Texas and Dallas, Texas</li></ul>This is a challenging position that requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
