Quality Control will be responsible for performing the daily operations of the Quality Laboratory, a facility that includes wet processing equipment for raw sand and dry processing equipment for processed sand.
 
Responsibilities: 
<ul>
<li>Performs quality testing of sand materials and keeps accurate records of results.</li>
<li>Performs auditing and inspection activities in order to ensure that quality targets are met for all finished Alpine Silica sand product shipped to customers.</li>
<li>Provides direct lab support to Production Manager and may assists with day-to-day operations of Loadout.</li>
<li>Prepares sand samples as needed.</li>
<li>Communicates quality-problems to plant management. Analyzing, identifying and communicating problematic trends, e.g. recurring first pass issues.</li>
<li>Establishes testing procedures and protocols for quality control and may provide training to Lab Technicians/Loadout Operators, who sample, test and document materials that are mined, processed or shipped.</li>
<li>Focuses on creating a safety culture that utilizes safe work practices, maintaining a safe and clean work area.</li>
<li>Complies with all company policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li>
</ul>
Other Requirements: 
<ul>
<li>High School Diploma or equivalent minimally required; four-year degree or a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a Quality Control position or lab, preferred.</li>
<li>Must be able to work independently, as a member of team, and as a team leader.</li>

Quality Control Technician

Responsible for incoming parts and delivery to appropriate destinations. Responsibilities include charging out parts to proper units and maintaining inventory, security and integrity of parts department.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
<ul>
<li>Receives, unpacks and counts stock items, and records data manually or electronically.</li>
<li>Retrieves stocked items or parts, packs items and delivers to designated recipients.</li>
<li>Maintains inventory levels; assists in maintaining inventory control.</li>
<li>Stores items in an orderly and accessible manner in parts department, supply rooms, or other areas.</li>
<li>Communicates inventory levels and related matters with other departments.</li>
<li>Maintain integrity of parts room and related secured areas.</li>
<li>Performs other related duties as assigned.</li>

Educational and Other Requirements:

Responsible for operating power-driven dredge to excavate and maintain navigable channels in waterways and to mine sand at bottom of lakes, rivers, and streams.
 
Essential Responsibilities
 <ul>
<li>Operate levers to position dredge for excavation by engaging hydraulic pumps to raise and lower suction booms and to control rotation of cutterheads.</li>
<li>Start and stop engines to operate equipment.</li>
<li>Start power winches that draw in or let out cables to change positions of dredge; or pull in and let out cables manually.</li>
<li>Pump water to clear machinery pipelines.</li>
<li>Verify depths of excavations using winches or scan depth gauge to determine depths of excavation.</li>
<li>Monitor gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure machinery is working properly.</li>
<li>Inspect equipment to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.</li>
<li>Provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in-person in a professional and timely manner.</li>
<li>Comply with MSHA regulations and all safety precautions.</li>
<li>Maintain clean and orderly work areas.</li>
<li>Other responsibilities as assigned.</li>

Education and Experience
 <ul>
<li>High school diploma or GED equivalent</li>
<li>Previous dredge experience preferred.</li>
<li>Prior knowledge of various pumps</li>
<li>Experience with heavy equipment, specifically, knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, use, repair, and maintenance.</li>
<li>Able to operate a boat.</li>
<li>Must be able to swim at least 50 yards.</li>
</ul>
