What You’ll Do
 
Partner with refining business stakeholders to understand needs, translate them into clear requirements, and shape solutions that support daily operations and long-term strategy.
 
Lead requirements gathering sessions, document current and future processes, and create functional specifications that guide technical teams.
 
Analyze data and industry trends to recommend improvements that enhance workflows, decision making, and digital tools across refining maintenance portfolios.
 
Support feasibility studies, maintain process and system documentation, and contribute to business case development for priority initiatives.
 
Collaborate with product owners, IT partners, and vendors to deliver reliable digital and application solutions.
 
Manage and prioritize application support requests based on business impact and value.
 
Monitor solution performance, identify opportunities for process optimization, and support continuous improvement efforts.
 
Contribute to a culture of innovation, provide clear communication and training during change adoption, and build your own capabilities through ongoing learning.
 
What You’ll Bring – Required
 
Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
 
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
 
1 or more years of relevant business analysis or IT/business partnership experience
 
Intermediate proficiency in data collection and analysis to identify trends and support decision making
 
What Makes You Stand Out – Preferred
 
Bachelor’s degree or higher in MIS, Computer Science, Business, or a related field
 
Knowledge of Phillips 66 Refining and Midstream businesses
 
Hands on experience partnering with vendors or supporting software implementations
 
Strength in facilitating workshops, conducting feasibility studies, or contributing to business case development
 
Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams
 
Ability to interpret data using BI tools, SQL, or comparable analytical platforms
 
A continuous improvement mindset with interest in innovation, new technologies, and modern ways of working
 
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to navigate complexity and work independently when needed
 
Ability to identify, elicit, and document requirements using multiple methods (interviews, workshops, document analysis, workflow review)
 
Demonstrated skill in analyzing current state processes, defining future state needs, and supporting transition activities
 
Compensation Range
 
This position has a base salary range of $93,600 – $114,400.

As a 2026 Borger Refinery Process Data Summer Intern , you will play a key role in making contributions that support our Phillips 66 Borger Refinery. The position will work under the supervision of an experienced Project Manager and network with other students participating in the Intern program. The position will provide an introduction to company practices, procedures, and safety culture.
 
What You’ll Do
 
Assist with the support and maintenance of various systems.
 
Utilize Excel and Visual Basic (VB) or other programming languages to expedite data cleanup and organization.
 
Ensure all critical instruments are accurately added to the system.
 
Facilitate the download of data to tools for craftsperson use.
 
Collaborate with team members to achieve long-term system integration goals.
 
Provide training and support to team members on the use of the systems.
 
Any other duties as assigned

Ability to multi-task and respond quickly to change / opportunities
 
Effective communication skills and basic computer skills
 
High service level and strong work ethic

Compensatio n
 
This position has a base hourly pay of $15.00 to $21.00.
 
The Borger Refinery is located in Borger, Texas, in the Texas Panhandle, approximately 50 miles north of Amarillo, Texas. Refinery facilities include crude distilling, naphtha reforming, fluid catalytic cracking, alkylation, hydrodesulfurization and delayed coking units. The refinery processes primarily medium sour crude oil produced locally, and heavy sour crude oil produced in Canada, all of which are delivered by pipeline. Borger produces a high percentage of transportation fuels, as well as petroleum coke, NGLs and solvents. Refined products are distributed to customers via pipelines from the refinery to West Texas, New Mexico, Colorado and the Midcontinent region.
