Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant with 3-5 years of experience to join our Midtown Manhattan law firm. In this role, you will manage bi-monthly payroll via ADP, oversee client-paid accounts (AR), and support partner compensation. The ideal candidate has a strong grasp of NYC-specified payroll regulations and legal industry accounting standards, perform essential bookkeeping tasks, financial data entry, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Bi-Monthly Payroll &amp; ADP Management:</li><li>Execute full-cycle, semi-monthly payroll for attorneys and staff using ADP Workforce Now</li><li>Ensure compliance with New York State and City withholding tax, including NYC Personal Income Tax and SUI/SUTA</li><li>Manage multi-state withholdings and apply the NY &quot;Convenience of the Employer&quot; rule for remote staff</li><li>Client Accounts &amp; AR Management:</li><li>Manage the end-to-end billing cycle, ensuring client payments are accurately applied to specific matters</li><li>Perform monthly three-way reconciliations for attorney trust/IOLTA accounts to maintain strict regulatory compliance</li><li>Partner Compensation &amp; Reporting:</li><li>Calculate and process partner draws and distributions based on firm profit-sharing models</li><li>Assist in maintaining partner capital accounts and tracking individual contribution reports</li></ul>Required Qualifications<ul><li>Experience: 3&ndash;5 years in accounting; law firm or professional services experience is highly preferred</li><li>Technical Skills:</li><li>High proficiency in ADP Workforce Now</li><li>Advanced Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs) for complex reconciliations</li><li>Knowledge: Firm understanding of NY-specific payroll taxes and trust accounting rules</li></ul>Compensation Range: $55,000 - $65,000Benefits &amp; Perks<ul><li>Flexible Hybrid Schedule: 4 days in office, one day remote work from home</li><li>Health &amp; Wellness: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance plans</li><li>Retirement: 401(k) plan available</li><li>Commuter Benefits: Pre-tax transit and parking programs for easy Midtown access</li></ul>Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per yearBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>Paid sick time</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Work Location: In person
