Monday to Friday Position

About the Role:
The Pathologist will plays a critical role in diagnosing diseases through the examination of surgical specimens. This position involves detailed analysis of tissue samples to provide accurate and timely pathology reports that directly influence patient treatment plans. The pathologist collaborates closely with surgeons, oncologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. The role demands a high level of expertise in surgical pathology techniques, including gross examination, microscopic evaluation, and ancillary testing. Ultimately, the pathologist contributes to improving patient outcomes by delivering precise diagnostic information and supporting clinical decision-making.
Minimum Qualifications:<ul><li>
Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.</li><li>
Board certification in Anatomic Pathology or Surgical Pathology.</li><li>
Valid medical license to practice pathology in the state of NJ</li><li>
Demonstrated experience in surgical pathology, including specimen handling and microscopic diagnosis.</li><li>
Strong knowledge of histopathology, immunohistochemistry, and related diagnostic techniques.</li></ul>
Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>
2 years Experience working in a hospital-based pathology department or medical center.</li><li>
Research experience or publications in pathology-related fields.</li><li>
Excellent communication skills for effective interdisciplinary collaboration.</li></ul>
Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Perform gross examination and dissection of surgical specimens to prepare them for microscopic evaluation.</li><li>
Analyze tissue samples using histopathological techniques to identify abnormalities and diagnose diseases.</li><li>
Prepare detailed pathology reports that accurately describe findings and provide diagnostic conclusions.</li><li>
Collaborate with clinical teams to discuss pathology results and assist in determining appropriate patient management strategies.</li><li>
Maintain compliance with laboratory safety protocols, quality control standards, and regulatory requirements.</li><li>
Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and tumor boards to contribute pathology expertise.</li><li>
Stay current with advances in surgical pathology and incorporate new diagnostic methods as appropriate.</li></ul>

The required skills enable the pathologist to accurately interpret complex tissue specimens and generate precise diagnostic reports that guide clinical care. Proficiency in histopathological techniques and immunohistochemistry is essential for identifying disease processes at the cellular level.
