The Yard Manager is responsible for running day-to-day yard operations while gaining full visibility into all functions of the yard. This role leads frontline teams, coordinates workflow, and builds the operational knowledge needed to drive performance, safety, and continuous improvement.
Essential Job Duties<ul><li>
Responsible for opening the site each morning.</li><li>
Responsible for making sure the site is accessible for the start of production.</li><li>
Unload haulers and stage cars for the inventory department to inventory.</li><li>
Support dismantling by bringing unprocessed cars to be dismantled and placing vehicles back in the yard.</li><li>
Crush vehicles that have reached their useful life.</li><li>
Support the cuts bay.</li><li>
Empty the scrap bins.</li><li>
Oversee yard operations personnel.</li><li>
Maintain Inventory locations and the integrity of vehicles placed in the yard.</li><li>
Load scrap haulers with crushed cars that are ready for final disposal.</li><li>
Assume other duties as assigned.</li></ul>
Supervisory Responsibilities<ul><li>
Manage the work of others, including planning, assigning, scheduling, and reviewing work, ensuring quality standards. Responsible for hiring, terminating, training, developing, reviewing performance, and administering corrective action for staff.</li></ul>
Requirements:

Minimum Requirements
Education &amp; Experience
High School Diploma/GED.<ul><li>
5 years+ in specialized profession or equivalent; Proficient in specialty, including prior senior lead/supervisor experience; Degree or equivalent work experience</li><li>
Previous heavy equipment operation, general maintenance, and understanding of mechanical equipment.</li></ul>
Preferred Requirements
<ul><li>Automotive background and heavy equipment experience preferred.</li><li>
Previous heavy equipment operation, some computer skills, general maintenance and understanding of mechanical equipment.</li></ul>

Yard Manager

<div>Description: 
The Plant Manager in Training program is designed to develop future operational leaders through hands-on experience in all aspects of salvage yard operations. Working closely with Plant Managers and leadership teams, this role will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to oversee production, sales, inventory, safety, customer service, and administrative functions while ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Through a structured training program, the Plant Manager in Training will learn to lead teams, drive operational performance, support financial objectives, and maintain a safe and efficient work environment. This position offers a unique opportunity to build a career in operations leadership with a clear path toward Plant Manager responsibilities.
This position may train in one or more of the following markets: Mt. Airy, MD, Baltimore, MD, and Edgewood Locations. Travel and temporary assignments within these markets may be required as part of the training program.

Train to oversee all departments for the specific facility pertaining to production, sales, administration and distribution.</li><li>

Plant Manager in Training

<div>Description:

Summary: Responsible for a variety of procurement and vendor-related duties to support the Procurement team.
Essential Job Duties<ul><li>
Update and maintain product/vendor data in internal systems with expected dates, notes, and appropriate work order status to properly notify involved parties of material availability.</li><li>
Review vendor-provided order acknowledgments for accuracy of information including complete description of items, delivery lead time, material quantities, expected pricing, etc. Ensure timely receipt of material by the due date. Monitor and follow up on vendor back-orders, shipments, and tracking of source products.</li><li>
Facilitate communication with vendors to provide PO numbers to confirm order placements.</li><li>
Maintain vendor scorecard to accurately represent customer satisfaction rating.</li><li>
Reconcile purchase orders and invoices.</li><li>
Interface with Procurement team members and other associated departments. Work with branch locations including ongoing acquisition orders to ensure company goals are met concerning the company&rsquo;s receiving and put-away goals. Interact with Accounting, ensuring suppliers follow proper invoicing procedures.</li><li>
Organize and schedule meetings to assist in the efficiency of procurement operations.</li><li>
Assist in preparing and auditing RFPs (Requests for Proposals).</li><li>
Generate reports to include, but not limited to, Supplier Performance, Spending by Commodity, and Cost Savings.</li><li>
May manage general services, including purchasing of office supplies, mail distribution, office equipment maintenance, and repair, facility related issues.</li><li>

Our High Value Core Parts Pullers are responsible for safely and efficiently dismantling and removing hybrid batteries, catalytic converters, airbags, and other high-value parts from vehicles. This role also includes staging high-value cores and parts for vendor and customer pickups while ensuring proper handling and inventory organization.
This position may be directed by the Production/Yard Leader to ensure all parts are handled in a safe, efficient, and proper manner.
Essential Job Duties<ul><li>
Safely maneuver around the yard or warehouse.</li><li>
Find/Retrieve parts.</li><li>
Package parts for delivery/or prepping</li><li>
Any paperwork involved with the parts.</li><li>
Pull work orders.</li><li>
