Work Schedule: Monday &ndash; Friday; 8:00 a.m. &ndash; 4:30 p.m.
Entry level environmental laboratory technician position performing various laboratory and/or office duties which may include: sample receipt, sample shipment, sample kit preparation, and basic chemical and bacteriological analyses on various types of water samples.
What Will You Do?<ul><li>
Receives samples according to laboratory protocols.</li><li>
Uses Laboratory Information Management System to log samples,</li><li>
Prepares sample kits and maintains appropriate inventories of kit materials.</li><li>
Prepares samples for shipment to external laboratories following established protocols.</li><li>
Serves as primary contact to resolve sample receipt issues.</li><li>
Prepares reagents and media for chemical and bacteriological analyses.</li><li>
Conducts basic chemical and/or bacteriological analyses on various types of water samples.</li><li>
Cleans laboratory glassware according to specific protocols.</li><li>
Performs sample bottle washing and testing according to specific protocols.</li><li>
Maintains sample storage and disposal.</li><li>
Monitors refrigerators, walk-in cooler temperatures, and ice machine performance.</li><li>
Inventories stock, places orders, and verifies receipt.</li><li>
Maintains and operates basic laboratory equipment.</li><li>
Maintains various records, accurately and completely.</li><li>
Adheres to all health and safety guidelines.</li><li>
Maintains a clean, organized work area.</li><li>
Serves as point of contact for recycling services and recycles containers as appropriate.</li><li>
Assists analysts in the laboratory, as required.</li><li>
May deliver or pickup items from other County facilities.</li><li>
Performs other related job duties as assigned.</li></ul> 
What Do You Need?
Please Note: College laboratory experience is not accepted as work experience.<ul><li>
At least 2 years of environmental laboratory work experience.</li><li>
High school diploma or GED with coursework in chemistry, biology, or related sciences and one year of environmental laboratory work experience in a laboratory.</li><li>
College level coursework in Chemistry, Biology or related science, including labs, plus one year laboratory work experience.</li><li>
Associate&rsquo;s or higher level-degree with college level coursework in Chemistry, Biology, or related science, including labs.</li><li>
Assignment to work a variety of work schedules including compulsory work periods in special, emergency, and/or disaster situations.</li><li>
Full knowledge/understanding of safe laboratory practices.</li><li>
Ability to perform basic laboratory analyses within specified protocols.</li><li>
Ability to maintain various records accurately and completely.</li><li>
Proficient with various computer systems and programs.</li><li>
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in a team environment.</li><li>
Assignment to work a variety of work schedules including compulsory work periods in special, emergency, and/or disaster situations.</li><li>
Full knowledge/understanding of safe laboratory practices.</li><li>
Ability to perform basic laboratory analyses within specified protocols.</li><li>

Highly Desirable<ul><li>
Associate Degree or higher-level degree with college level coursework in Chemistry, Biology, or related science AND one (1) year of laboratory work experience, excluding laboratory work related to college classes.</li><li>
Experience in working in an environmental laboratory.</li><li>
Knowledge of drinking water and wastewater systems and treatment.</li><li>
Knowledge of environmental impacts on waters.</li><li>
Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.</li><li>
Ability to multi-task.</li><li>

Work Schedule: Wednesday to Sunday, 12:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.

The Airport Craftworker 1 performs journeyman-level work involving moderately complex assignments in the construction, maintenance, and/or repair of airport facilities, buildings, equipment, and devices across one or more crafts, trades, or specialized maintenance fields; performs at least one specialized line of work, with duties frequently requiring mastery of a recognized skill or multiple skill sets. 
***A 10-year criminal history records check will be completed to meet TSA requirements. A plea of guilty or adjudication withheld for a felony are considered convictions per TSA and will disqualify an individual from getting an Airport ID badge.*** 
What Would You Do?<ul><li>
Performs skilled work in one or more complex combinations of assignments in grounds, construction, maintenance, repair, and other miscellaneous functions;</li><li>
Assists journeymen level workers in construction, maintenance, and repair work;</li><li>
Performs duties in one or more functional occupations, i.e., air conditioning/ heating specialists, electricians, mechanics, carpenters, welders, painters, and other skilled personnel to build, construct, and maintain facilities, buildings, equipment, machinery, etc.</li><li>
Assists plumbers in installation, maintenance, and repair of pipes, valves, faucets, sinks, and other fixtures;</li><li>
Assists cement and mason personnel.</li><li>
Performs carpenter duties to maintain, repair, and construct a wide variety of structures using wood, other materials, assemblies, drywall, and the entire range of construction materials and products;</li><li>
Assists mechanics in operation, maintenance and repair of heating, refrigeration, and air conditioning equipment;</li><li>
Repairs and maintains special tools, equipment, and accessories;</li><li>
Assists painters to mix, match and apply stains, paints, and other chemicals;</li><li>
Paints, stains, wall covers, or otherwise decorates interiors and exteriors, including walls, trim, furniture, buildings, and other facilities using spray guns, rollers, brushes, pads, sponges, etc.;</li><li>
Maintains, and repairs electrical systems, electronic, electric motors, generators, switches, circuit breakers, fuse boxes, and lighting equipment in buildings and other County facilities using various hand tools and test equipment;</li><li>
Lays, finishes, and repairs concrete sidewalks, floors, walls, and steps using hand tools or power tools;</li><li>
Assembles, installs, and repairs pipe, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems;</li><li>
Receives, stores, issues, and controls departmental tools, supplies, and materials inventory;</li><li>
Retrieves, reports, and communicates on the status of work assignments using administrative, computer, and other means of reporting;</li><li>
Installs, repairs, rebuilds, and services mechanical and electrical locking devices, cuts new or duplicate metal keys and electronic access control cards, and performs electronic key system operations using hand tools, special equipment, guides, and instructions;</li><li>
Constructs, erects, installs, and repairs structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard using carpenter&rsquo;s hand tools and power tools;</li><li>
May also fabricate and repair furniture using various hand tools and woodworking machines;</li><li>
Performs other related job duties as assigned.</li></ul>

Three (3) years of skilled craft or trade experience in the grounds maintenance; or</li><li>
Completion of a two-year skilled trades vocational or technical school program with a diploma or certification and one (1) years of experience and supervisory training as described above; or</li><li>

This position performs responsible professional journalistic and graphic design work in the preparation of a variety of multimedia materials for Pinellas County Utilities (PCU). Work includes designing materials in a variety of media to promote and communicate utility information, services, activities, programs, and projects. This position is responsible for developing, coordinating and providing effective written and graphic design communications for print and digital distribution. Duties are performed under the supervision of the Senior Department Administrative Manager.
This Utilities Communications Coordinator (Communications Coordinator - Internal) position is located: 14 South Fort Harrison Avenue, Clearwater, FL 33756.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
What Will You Do?<ul><li>
Frequently visits all major PCU facilities &ndash; from St. Petersburg to Tarpon Springs &ndash; regularly rides along with PCU team members, visits worksites, and attends department, division, section, and team meetings on a frequent basis to get to know the entire team, build trust, engage team members in communication efforts and generate fresh, timely, and informative content for internal communication efforts; develops, designs, and distributes timely and accurate communications throughout the PCU team to ensure promotion and understanding of relevant initiatives and current activities/events.</li><li>
Identifies, develops and promotes feature stories, articles, newsletters and other Utilities-related content for the County newsletters and recognition efforts (i.e., The Pen, Employee Spotlight, etc.).</li><li>
Works closely with the Utilities Human Resources Coordinator to promote internal employment opportunities, events, and activities, including career fair back-up</li><li>
In coordination with the Utilities Human Resources Coordinator and Administration staff, plans and promotes employee events, including the PCU all-hands meetings, employee appreciation days, picnics, facility tours, ride-along and job shadowing opportunities, and other activities.</li><li>
Supports and promotes the efforts of the Strategic Objectives Team by developing creative approaches to information sharing and promotion of initiatives, training opportunities, and mandatory annual activities (i.e., DAPA, open enrollment, Digital Toolbox, etc.).</li><li>
Promotes, in a variety of creative ways, the PCU Strategic Plan, and regularly links the plan to employee activities, accomplishments, and duties.</li><li>
Internally promotes regular PCU programs &ndash; such as annual water system maintenance, grease management, flushable wipes, sewer system contaminants, declared droughts and water conservation programs - to ensure general knowledge and understanding that will help employees share information with customers.</li><li>
Collaborates with County Communications to determine social media needs and promotes, instructs, gathers, and shares PCU photos and material with County Communications for employee-related social media posts.</li><li>
Develops and updates internal PCU SharePoint and intranet content as needed.</li><li>
Seeks out and gathers material to craft, produce, edit, and distribute the In the Know online video series, the Inside H2O quarterly e-newsletter, and the biweekly In the Pipeline project e-newsletter</li><li>
Collects and analyzes employee surveys and statistical data related to internal communication efforts, including the In the Know video series, the Inside H2O monthly e-newsletter, and the biweekly In the Pipeline project e-newsletter, the communication questions for the Employee Voice Survey, and any other communication tool developed and executed within the department.</li><li>
Conducts field and office research in obtaining materials to be used in feature articles.</li><li>
Generates audio and video content for internal news, including topics, themes, production, on-air talent, and distribution.</li><li>
Serves as the night shift Public Information Officer at the Utilities Operations Center during emergency activations.</li><li>
Performs related work as assigned or required.</li></ul> 
What Do You Need?
Experience &ndash; Professional experience in marketing, public relations, or communications professions such as radio, television, news media, or a related field.
Degree: Major coursework in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English, or a related field<ul><li>
At least 5 years' experience as described above or</li><li>
An Associate degree and 3 years of experience as described above or</li><li>
A Bachelor&rsquo;s degree or higher and 1 year of experience as described above.</li><li>
Master&rsquo;s or higher-level and some experience as described above.</li><li>
An equivalent combination of training and experience.</li><li>
Valid Florida Driver&rsquo;s License.</li><li>
