Summary of Role: 
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for supervising production and distribution center (DC) operations in a lean manufacturing, packaging, and warehouse environment; assisting the Senior Department Supervisor, Operations in coordinating the processing of materials and/or products in the manufacturing, packaging, and warehouse facilities; supervising employees while monitoring production output and quality of products; and assuring products meet quality and delivery requirements.
 
Responsibilities: 
<ul>
<li>Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), company policies, safety policies and practices, quality standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).</li>
<li>Responsible at all times for ensuring that tasks are performed according to food safety, quality, and regulatory guidelines.</li>
<li>Responsible at all times for promoting a safety culture and safety awareness within their area of responsibility. Support and enforce all plant safety policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner.</li>
<li>Under the guidance of the Senior Department Supervisor, Operations, directs shift activities and processes to meet customer needs and assists with the capturing and reporting of plant KPI's.</li>
<li>Communicates with the Senior Department Supervisor, Operations regarding staffing levels, materials, machines, methods and metrics.</li>
<li>Assists with training employees in safety, quality, productivity, and operational requirements.</li>
<li>Provides clear and factual feedback to Senior Department Supervisor, Operations regarding corrective actions.</li>
<li>Leads team in ensuring continuous improvement and lean opportunities are communicated and executed.</li>
<li>Responsible for ensuring that all sanitation and good housekeeping procedures and guidelines are followed.</li>
<li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li>
</ul>
Qualifications: 
<ul>
<li>HS Diploma or GED; Associates degree preferred.</li>
<li>Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience, including leadership responsibility, required.</li>
</ul>
Key Competencies & Attributes: 
<ul>
<li>Excellent communications skills – ability to communicate clearly and concisely in multiple media – verbal, written, etc.</li>
<li>Ability to prioritize work assignments in a fast-paced work environment, calm under pressure and flexibility to direct work force and adapt to changing schedules as appropriate.</li>
<li>Experience with MS Office Suite. SAP experience a plus.</li>
<li>Knowledge of production operation, including equipment, materials, workflow, etc.</li>
<li>Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality at all times and in all situations.</li>
<li>Ability to maintain punctuality and predictable attendance.</li>
</ul>
WORKING CONDITIONS: 
<ul>
<li>Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment and clean room attire.</li>
<li>Moderate physical activity, requires standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day and up to twelve (12) hours per shift.</li>
<li>Must be able to lift and carry items weighing 50 pounds.</li>
<li>Must be able to perform work onsite and be comfortable in a light industrial environment, including some exposure to non-toxic dust.</li>
</ul>
Shift Schedule : Friday to Sunday and every other Thursday 5PM to 5AM

Operations Supervisor Packaging Weekend Nights

At Piping Rock, we are leveraging AI and automation to improve how teams work across the business. As an AI Engineer, you will design, build, deploy, and support intelligent systems that streamline workflows, improve decision-making, and unlock productivity across departments including IT, operations, supply chain, finance, customer service, HR, and marketing.
 This is a hands-on technical role for someone who enjoys building practical AI solutions that solve real business problems. The ideal candidate has experience developing AI-powered applications, integrating enterprise systems, automating workflows, and working closely with business stakeholders to turn ideas into scalable solutions.
 Responsibilities
 <ul>
<li>Design, build, test, and deploy AI-driven applications, assistants, and automation workflows for business use cases across the organization</li>
<li>Develop and maintain integrations between internal and third-party systems to support AI and automation initiatives</li>
<li>Build intelligent workflows using automation platforms, APIs, and custom scripting</li>
<li>Leverage large language models and related AI tools to improve productivity, communication, reporting, search, and operational decision-making</li>
<li>Partner with business leaders to identify high-value opportunities for AI implementation and process automation</li>
<li>Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions with strong usability and measurable impact</li>
<li>Develop data pipelines and retrieval workflows to support AI applications, including structured and unstructured data sources</li>
<li>Implement prompt engineering, evaluation, testing, and monitoring practices to improve output quality and reliability</li>
<li>Support model deployment, observability, performance tuning, and ongoing maintenance of production AI solutions</li>
<li>Establish best practices around security, privacy, governance, and responsible AI usage</li>
<li>Create technical documentation, user guides, and training materials to support adoption</li>
<li>Collaborate cross-functionally with IT, operations, marketing, finance, HR, and other teams to deliver scalable solutions</li>
<li>Stay current on emerging AI technologies, frameworks, and enterprise use cases, and recommend practical improvements</li>
<li>Additional duties as assigned</li>
</ul>
Qualifications
 <ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field</li>
<li>3+ years of experience in software engineering, automation engineering, machine learning engineering, or a related technical role</li>
<li>Hands-on experience building AI-enabled solutions using tools such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure OpenAI, or similar platforms</li>
<li>Experience with workflow automation platforms such as n8n, Zapier, Make, or equivalent</li>
<li>Strong proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or similar scripting/programming languages</li>
<li>Experience working with APIs, web services, JSON, and system integrations</li>
<li>Understanding of data modeling, SQL, ETL/data pipelines, and working with enterprise data sources</li>
<li>Experience developing, testing, and supporting production-grade applications</li>
<li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts</li>
<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders</li>
<li>Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities</li>
</ul>
Preferred Qualifications
 <ul>
<li>Experience with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), vector databases, embeddings, and knowledge-based AI systems</li>
<li>Experience with cloud environments such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud</li>
<li>Familiarity with MLOps, model evaluation, versioning, and monitoring practices</li>
<li>Experience integrating business systems such as ERP, HRIS, CRM, ticketing, collaboration, or identity platforms</li>
<li>Experience in a regulated, manufacturing, consumer products, or FDA-governed environment</li>
<li>Experience building internal copilots, chat interfaces, agent workflows, or business automation tools</li>
<li>Familiarity with data governance, access controls, and enterprise security standards</li>
