</b></div><ul><li>Greet patients and visitors in person or on the phone and schedule appointments as needed. Refer calls to other providers for services that are out of the PPMI scope.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Assist patients with check in process and paperwork completion.
</li></ul><ul><li>Obtain patient insurance information which may include verifying insurance and obtaining health plan authorization.
</li></ul><ul><li>Assess patients&rsquo; financial resources including eligibility for available programs and insurances.
</li></ul><ul><li>In accordance with PPMI cash handling policy and procedures, collect all fees.
</li></ul><ul><li>Record financial and billing transactions in the practice management system.
</li></ul><ul><li>Under the direction of a physician or clinician, dispense medication and supplies to patients.

</b></div><ul><li>Perform basic diagnostic testing including finger poke, basic vital signs, urine pregnancy testing, urinalyses, and hemoglobin, rapid HIV test, and blood draws. Prepare lab specimens, requisitions and tracking logs for transport to laboratories for evaluation.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Obtain patient vital signs including obtaining blood pressure, height, weight, hemoglobin, pulse, LMP, and patient needs assessment. Administer Injections.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Prepares patients for procedures as applicable and discusses pain management options. Assist clinician or physician during exams or procedures.
</li></ul><ul><li>May participate in aftercare services.
</li></ul><ul><li>Provide basic factual, unbiased, patient education and general information regarding pregnancy management options (including abortions options, risks, and adoption resources), information and risks on Birth Control Methods (BCM), Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), and all other basic health care services within the scope of PPMI&rsquo;s practice. Screens for possible coercion. Refers to outside resources as needed.

Medical Assistant- Full Time in Grand Rapids

<div><div>Planned Parenthood Los Angeles is seeking an experienced and caring <b>Medical Assistant (Float)</b> with excellent clinical and customer service skills to work full-time at our <b>Jones Health Center</b>-and will also travel to <b>East LA, El Monte, </b>and <b>Pomona</b> locations as needed. This is an intermediate level position responsible for all supporting functions in the delivery of reproductive health care service and performs all Medical Assistant front and back office functions. <div><b>Job Overview:</b> Under the direction of the Director of Executive Affairs, the Administrative Coordinator is part of a team that provides high-quality administrative and operational support to agency leadership, programs, and cross-functional initiatives. Working within a shared services model, Administrative Coordinators collectively support PPM's senior leaders with core functions such as calendar management, meeting and event scheduling, logistics coordination, material preparation, and follow-through on action items. The role also includes coordinating and responding to internal service requests in partnership with HR and other departments; providing administrative support for agency-wide projects and programs; and supporting key office operations, including mail processing, financial reporting and reconciliations, and SharePoint file management. Administrative Coordinators collaborate closely with one another to balance workloads, provide coverage, and maintain reliable service levels across the organization.</div>

<li>Provides executive-level administrative support across the agency, including managing shared calendars, coordinating meeting and event scheduling, and creating, editing and distributing materials; screens and responds to correspondence and phone inquiries as appropriate.</li>
<li>Supports agency meetings and initiatives by preparing agendas, documenting discussions, distributing materials, and tracking and following up on action items to ensure timely completions.</li>
<li>Coordinates logistics for on-site and off-site meetings, including meeting management, minutes, catering arrangements, and technology support.</li>
<li>Assists with administrative and financial processes such as preparing and submitting expense reports, credit care reconciliations, and related documentation in accordance with agency policies.</li>

<li>Collaborates with fellow Administrative Coordinators to manage receipt, sorting, and distribution of agency mail through a shared rotation.</li>

<li>Provides other in-office administrative support, as assigned.</li>
