Job Summary: 
The primary responsibilities of the Packsmart operator will be to set up, operate, and troubleshoot machinery to produce high-quality products while leading a team of employees to successfully meet production goals.

Essential Job Functions:
<ul><li>Safely and with high quality, operate production machinery with a primary focus on the packsmart machine</li>
<li>Train general machine operators on safe and proper machine set up and operation</li>
<li>Instruct and lead a team of 4+ employees</li>
<li>Safely make physical adjustments to the machine</li>
<li>Understand how machines work, mechanical knowledge to be able to troubleshoot, adjust settings accordingly, and perform necessary repairs</li>
<li>Read and understand data</li>
<li>Review first article, data proofs, and other production paperwork</li>
<li>Audit quality for operations on each side of the running machine.</li>
<li>Audit work instructions are being followed for safety, quality, and production throughout.</li>
<li>Set-up work area/machines with no assistance</li>
<li>Can make camera adjustments</li>
<li>Perform these and other duties as assigned by Supervisor or other appropriate management personnel</li>
</ul>
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills &amp; Abilities:
<ul><li>High School Diploma or equivalent</li>
<li>3+ years&rsquo; experience in a progressive, high-volume manufacturing environment</li>
<li>Preferred experience on complex machinery with folder gluers with camera inspection systems (Otto Kunnecke Machines, Precision Redlline Machines, Kirk Rudy Machines, Masssman Automation)</li>
<li>Must be mechanically inclined</li>
<li>Advanced math and reading skills and must be able to read and understand work and safety instructions in English</li>
<li>Ability to manage multiple activities at different stages of complexity</li>
<li>Developed interpersonal and communication skills</li>
<li>Strong organization skills combined with structured problem solving and the ability to determine root cause, containment, and corrective actions</li>
<li>Proficient computer skills/knowledge</li>
<li>Must be proficient in Excel</li>
</ul>
Pay Rate: $26-$28 per hour.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak, hear, and comprehend. The employee is required to stand for extended periods, walk and use hands for grasping and fine manipulation. The employee will be required to reach with hands and arms and must be able to lift and carry up to twenty-five pounds frequently and up to fifty pounds occasionally. Employee must be able to regularly push and pull loads using a pallet jack. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to adjust focus and distinguish colors from one another.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is primarily in an indoor setting with variable temperature conditions. The employee will be working around moving equipment and machinery and will occasionally be required to use hazardous chemicals with appropriate, required personal protective equipment. The employee may be exposed to minimal chemical smells and paper dust. The employee must be prepared to respond to emergencies should they occur. The noise level in the environment is usually moderate.</div>
