<div>We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing skilled tasks in the mechanical repair and maintenance of heavy trucks, earth moving, and related construction equipment. Your duties will include diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles and equipment.
Essential Duties &amp; Responsibilities -
<ul><li>Conduct thorough inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel engines and heavy machinery such as pavers, millers, rollers, and bobcats, as well as company vehicles.</li>
<li>Perform scheduled maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance.</li>
<li>Handle complex and major repairs independently.</li>
<li>Utilize middle to advanced-level welding skills for various types of welding as needed.</li>
<li>Respond to field service calls with a focus on delivering high-quality, timely repairs.</li>
<li>Conduct on-site repairs at job locations to minimize downtime.</li>
<li>Maintain clear and consistent communication with managers regarding repair progress and parts inventory needs.</li>
<li>Work effectively within a team, demonstrating a willingness to learn and train others.</li>
<li>Build and maintain positive working relationships.</li>
</ul>

<ul><li>Skilled at large tractor truck diesels, including, CAT and CUMMINS engines, Large Diesel Peterbilt and MACK engines.</li>

Heavy Diesel Equipment /Technician Mechanic

<div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader">Job Summary:</h2>
We are seeking a Construction Superintendent to join our grading and excavation operations. As the strategic link between the office and the field, you won't just be &quot;watching dirt move&quot;&mdash;you will be the technical authority on-site, ensuring that the project meets precise engineering standards and is efficiently operating with material, labor, equipment and subcontractors. PLM has over 120 employees, and this position would work with a minimum of three (3) excavating and two (2) grading crews on a daily basis partnering with our Concrete and Asphalt Superintendents to deliver high quality pavements to our loyal and expanding customer base.
The ideal candidate possesses a deep mastery of grade setting and construction staking, paired with the leadership grit required to manage multiple field foremen and a complex heavy equipment fleet.
<h2 class="jobSectionHeader">Essential Job Duties &amp; Responsibilities:</h2>
<ul><li>Surveying &amp; Staking: Directly oversee or perform construction staking and verify control points. You must be able to translate blueprints into physical reality with 100% accuracy.
</li><li>Grade Setting: Establish and maintain grades for mass excavation, embankments, and fine grading. Ensure all field operations adhere to the specified slope requirements and drainage profiles.
</li><li>Directing Field Foremen: Provide daily clear objectives to foremen, ensuring crews are optimized and safety protocols are non-negotiable.
</li><li>Dispatch &amp; Scheduling: Assist the Project Manager and Dispatcher in the strategic movement of heavy equipment and materials to eliminate downtime.
</li><li>Production Tracking: Monitor daily material quantities against the project budget to ensure the job stays &quot;in the black.&quot;
</li><li>Mentor and find training opportunities for field staff on labor, trucking and equipment operations.
</li><li>Coordinate with subcontractors, utility companies, and third-party inspectors.
</li><li>Conduct daily &quot;Tailgate&quot; safety meetings and maintain detailed daily logs of site activities, weather conditions, and delays.
</li><li>Operate and perform physical work as necessary to maintain project requirements.
</li><li>This position requires presence on active construction sites and this is a &quot;hands on&quot; position requiring a significant degree of independent direction and &quot;whatever it takes&quot; mentality.
</li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader">Qualifications (Experience, Education &amp; Certifications, Key Attributes):</h2>

<li>Technical Literacy: Expert-level ability to read and interpret site plans, topographical maps, and cross-sections.</li>
<li>Surveying Tools: Proficiency grade setting using lasers is required, understanding of GPS and rovers from a growth perspective is preferred.</li>
<li>Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to bridge the gap between &quot;boots on the ground&quot; and management.</li>
<li>License: Valid driver&rsquo;s license with a clean driving record (CDL A preferred).</li>
