JOB SUMMARY &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES</h1>
POET is currently the nation&rsquo;s 15th largest container exporter, exporting feed products to more than 20 countries. We are excited to have recently acquired a rail-to-container transload facility in Savannah, GA! By expanding our footprint, we will continue to drive consistency and demand within several of POET&rsquo;s key markets for POET Dried Distillers Grain and POET Corn Fermented Protein animal feed. Our customers have already come to expect nothing less than the best in food safety and quality from POET, and we will continue to deliver as a trusted partner.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
As a Gate Clerk, you'll perform operational duties that help improve port drivers turn time, enhance awareness of fleet movements, and ensure yard management system data accuracy.
This is an on-site role located in Savannah, GA. Responsibilities include:<ul><li>
This team member will control inbound and outbound container movements between GPA port and POET Terminal Savannah container yards.</li><li>
Ensuring yard management system data accuracy, while keeping in constant contact with port drivers.</li><li>
Ensuring all check in/out procedures are followed per POET directive.</li><li>
Assigns drop/pickup locations for containers according to daily plan.</li><li>
Verifies container movement with drivers entering and exiting the yard, coordinating booking and container number verification in Freight Flow.</li><li>
Assist Dispatch Manager with pulling data from carriers&rsquo; computer systems for reporting needs.</li><li>
Records and maintains a daily physical yard check of all containers onsite.</li><li>
Communicate with top lift operator for stack coordination while maximizing space utilization.</li><li>
Coordinating traffic flow within the container yard.</li><li>
Foster a culture of safe behavior and compliance at all times</li><li>
Maintain and advance the food safety and quality of POET&rsquo;s products and processes to deliver a best-in-class culture of quality.</li><li>
Maintain a team environment at all times and champion POET in the community.</li><li>

QUALIFICATIONS &amp; SKILLS
</h1><ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent required</li><li>
1+ years of relevant experience.</li><li>
Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills as well as the ability to embrace change.</li><li>
You communicate effectively in writing and in person.</li><li>
You have the ability to understand technical and day to day operation of a transloading facility.</li><li>
Knowledge of the basics of Microsoft Office Suite and the ability of learning new programs.</li></ul><h1 class="jobSectionHeader">

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS &amp; WORK ENVIRONMENT
</h1>This role has some physical requirements that our team members will need to be able to perform, such as:<ul><li>
Occasionally lifting weight up to sixty (60) pounds.</li><li>
Climbing in and out of shipping containers.</li><li>
Occasionally bending, twisting, and turning while lifting weight of less than fifty (50) pounds.</li><li>
Walking up to two (2) or more miles per day.</li><li>
Pushing brooms, shovels, etc.</li><li>
Standing for extended periods of time.</li><li>
Wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).</li></ul>
Due to the physical and safety-sensitive nature of this job, you will be subject to a physical and expected to pass a drug screen during the pre-screen process. During employment, you&rsquo;ll be subject to random drug and alcohol testing.<h1 class="jobSectionHeader">
