Director of Human ResourcesDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:<ul><li>HRD oversees hospital recruitment and retention, ensuring appropriate staffing.</li><li>Serves as a resource to department managers and coordinates the overall education program for all staff.</li><li>Monitors employee health, manages workers' compensation, and assists with benefits administration.</li><li>Acts as a liaison between Home Office HR and the hospital, ensuring regulatory compliance.</li><li>Supports a mission-driven environment, holding staff accountable for performance and motivating improvement.</li><li>Manages collective bargaining agreement and grievance matters.</li><li>Responsible for overseeing all HR office operations and developing department philosophy, goals, programs, and objectives.</li><li>Plans, coordinates, and administers policies for all phases of hospital HR activities.</li><li>Initiates and recommends policies to achieve hospital objectives and ensure personnel stability.</li><li>Administers the EEO Program, represents the hospital in external complaints, and manages union contracts.</li><li>Applies regulations, policies, and procedures to daily employee situations.</li><li>Oversees activities related to benefits, recruitment, retention, worker's compensation, staffing, and wages.</li><li>Ensures hospital compliance with regulatory agencies and state/federal standards.</li><li>Coordinates surveys on turnover, wages, benefits, morale, and other HR considerations.</li><li>Directs preparation of non-clinical training materials and human resources information systems.</li><li>Directs quality assurance activities for HR Joint Commission standards compliance.</li><li>Maintains records for administrative and regulatory purposes, including new employee orientation.</li><li>Coaches/counsels departmental managers on procedural and contractual issues.</li><li>Conducts investigations of internal complaints.</li><li>Attends meetings and participates in assigned committees.</li><li>Manages and monitors Workers' Compensation claims and costs.</li><li>Investigates employee accident claims and provides follow-up intervention as needed.</li><li>Directs case management of hospital employees for work-related injuries.</li><li>Manages light-duty assignments, return-to-work programs, etc.</li><li>Works with the management team to identify training opportunities and areas for development.</li><li>Develops and reports data for various committees (Board, Quality Council, Safety, etc.).</li><li>Acts as a Senior Leader to help create a mission-aligned environment and culture.</li><li>Organizes, plans, and manages time effectively to complete assignments.</li><li>Meets position requirements and performs essential functions.</li><li>Completes mandatory training and courses by the required completion date.</li></ul>Experience: - Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field; Master's degree preferred - Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in human resources management roles - Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations, including OSHA compliance - Proven experience in change management and driving organizational culture change - Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization - Experience in performance management, including goal setting, coaching, and feedback - Experience in negotiation, grievance and conflict management skillsSUPERVISION:Reports to the COO and CEO.
