PLC/SCADA Automation Engineer &ndash; Water Treatment &amp; Injection Package SystemsJob SummaryWe are seeking an experienced PLC/SCADA Automation Engineer with strong expertise in developing PLC logic, HMI/SCADA applications, and commissioning automation systems for water treatment plants and chemical/water injection package systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for writing, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning PLC software for packaged process plants while ensuring reliable and efficient plant operation.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Develop PLC software and control logic using Ladder Logic, Function Block Diagram (FBD), Structured Text (ST), and Sequential Function Charts (SFC) in accordance with IEC 61131-3 standards.</li><li>Design, develop, and maintain HMI and SCADA applications with process graphics, alarms, trends, event logs, reports, and user management.</li><li>Prepare functional design specifications (FDS), software design specifications (SDS), I/O lists, control narratives, cause-and-effect matrices, alarm lists, and software documentation.</li><li>Develop automation software for:</li><li>Water Treatment Plants (WTP)</li><li>Reverse Osmosis (RO) Plants</li><li>Ultrafiltration (UF) Systems</li><li>Demineralized (DM) Water Plants</li><li>Chemical Dosing and Injection Packages</li><li>Water Injection Skids</li><li>Pumping Stations</li><li>CIP Systems</li><li>Containerized and Skid-Mounted Water Treatment Systems</li><li>Develop PLC sequencing for automatic plant start-up, shutdown, flushing, backwashing, chemical dosing, tank level management, pump duty/standby changeover, and plant protection interlocks.</li><li>Configure and troubleshoot communication with PLCs, remote I/O, variable frequency drives (VFDs), motor control centres (MCCs), analyzers, and field instrumentation.</li><li>Integrate field devices including flow, pressure, level, temperature, pH, ORP, conductivity, turbidity, chlorine analyzers, dosing pumps, control valves, actuators, and package equipment.</li><li>Configure industrial communication protocols such as Modbus RTU/TCP, Profinet, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, and OPC UA.</li><li>Perform software simulation, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), loop checking, commissioning, and plant start-up.</li><li>Troubleshoot PLC programs, SCADA systems, HMI applications, communication networks, and field instrumentation during commissioning and operation.</li><li>Optimize control logic to improve plant performance, reliability, chemical consumption, and energy efficiency.</li><li>Prepare software backups, as-built documentation, and operating manuals.</li><li>Provide technical support, operator training, and after-sales troubleshooting.</li><li>Coordinate with process, electrical, instrumentation, mechanical, and commissioning engineers throughout project execution.</li></ul>Required Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Automation, or Mechatronics Engineering.</li><li>Minimum 5 years of experience in PLC/SCADA programming for water treatment plants, RO systems, or chemical/water injection package systems.</li><li>Proven experience in writing PLC logic from scratch for packaged process plants.</li></ul>Technical Skills<ul><li>Strong PLC programming skills using Ladder Logic, FBD, Structured Text, and Sequential Function Charts.</li><li>HMI and SCADA development experience.</li><li>Strong understanding of process control, instrumentation, interlocks, alarms, and sequencing.</li><li>Experience in industrial networking and communication protocols.</li><li>Ability to read P&amp;IDs, electrical drawings, loop diagrams, and control philosophies.</li><li>Experience with VFDs, MCCs, soft starters, analyzers, and intelligent field devices.</li></ul>Preferred PLC Platforms<ul><li>Siemens TIA Portal (S7-1200/S7-1500)</li><li>Allen-Bradley ControlLogix and CompactLogix</li><li>Schneider Electric EcoStruxure Control Expert</li><li>Mitsubishi</li><li>Omron</li><li>ABB</li><li>Beckhoff</li><li>Delta</li></ul>Preferred SCADA/HMI Platforms<ul><li>Siemens WinCC</li><li>AVEVA/Wonderware InTouch System Platform</li><li>Ignition</li><li>FactoryTalk View</li><li>Citect SCADA</li><li>Schneider EcoStruxure HMI</li></ul>Preferred Experience<ul><li>Water treatment and desalination package systems.</li><li>Reverse Osmosis and Ultrafiltration plants.</li><li>Chemical dosing and injection skids.</li><li>Packaged process equipment.</li><li>FAT, SAT, commissioning, and field troubleshooting.</li><li>Remote monitoring, telemetry, and industrial IoT integration.</li></ul>Personal Attributes<ul><li>Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.</li><li>Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.</li><li>Good communication and documentation skills.</li><li>Willingness to travel for site commissioning and customer support.</li><li>Commitment to delivering high-quality automation solutions within project schedules.</li></ul>Pay: AED2,505.35 - AED9,528.47 per monthWork Location: In person
