The nurse practices in accordance with current established standards of care, the Nurse Practice Act, the Community Healthcare System policies and procedures, and supports the mission and philosophy of CHS.</p><br>

<p>Education/Experience: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current professional licensure by the State of Indiana Health Professions Bureau. BSN desirable. Successful completion of The Community Healthcare System's Personnel and Nursing Orientation Programs. Obtains and maintains current certification (ACLS) as required in specialty areas (Critical Care). Obtains and maintains current CPR certification.</p></div><br>

<h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Position Summary</b></h2>
<p>Under the direction of the Provider, assists in transcribing medical history and physical exam; accurately documents the Provider&rsquo;s encounter with the patient; records all proper diagnoses and symptoms as well as follow up instructions and prescriptions as dictated by the Provider; transcribes all patient orders.</p><br>
<p></p><p><b>Education/Experience Requirements</b><b>
</b></p><ul><li>High School graduate or GED equivalent required</li>
<li>Medical Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant, or Certified Medical Assistant strongly preferred</li>
<li>If not a Medical Assistant, successful completion of Certified Provider Order Entry Professional (CPOEP) course Required (must obtain within six months from hire date)</li>
<li>Medical background, terminology, and experience in related field required</li>
<li>(Acceptable areas include Medical Assisting, Phlebotomy, Nursing, Radiology, or other related clinical documentation fields)
</li><li>Six months experience as a Medical Scribe strongly preferred</li>
<li>EPIC experience preferred</li>
<li>Maintain current CPR certification</li>
<li>Computer proficiency; able to type quickly; ability to quickly learn new applications</li>
<li>PC keyboard data entry skills and the ability to type a minimum of 30-35 wpm are required</li>
<li>Basic understanding of medical documentation and terms; ability to spell accurately; able to accurately record information
</li><li>Organizational skills with focus on tracking patient care and improving patient flow</li>
<li>Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively</li>
<li>Must be able to act calmly and effectively in a busy or stressful situation</li>
<li>Completes annual skill validation as well as safety and infection control procedures</li>
<li>Excellent attitude, interpersonal skills, and communication abilities necessary to interact with patients, family members, physicians, and other medical associates</li>
