Lays out, fits, torch cuts, and welds fabricated, cast, and forged components to assemble structure forms such as machinery frames, tanks, pressure vessels, furnace shells, and building and bridge parts by performing the following duties. Responsible for fabricating, joining, and repairing metal structures using various welding processes like shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), while adhering to safety protocols and quality standards.</p><p><b>
Primary Duties &amp; Responsibilities:
</b></p><p>Other duties may be assigned. Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding.</li><li>
Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together.</li><li>
Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding.</li><li>
Sets up equipment and welds parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, or gas welding equipment.</li><li>
Assembles parts by bolting and riveting.</li><li>
Repairs products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.</li><li>
Repairs dies by grinding, scarfing and welding techniques.</li><li>
Maintain and make minor repairs to welding and other shop equipment.</li><li>

Trainees gain work experience under the direct observation of a certified Level 2 or Level 3 or, a certified Level 1 or NDT instructor only when approved by the Responsible Level 3.</p><p><b>
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:</b></p><p><b>
TRAINEE</b><b>:</b></p><p>
An individual who is documented as participating in a training program for an NDT method and is in the process of</p><p>
becoming qualified for certification to Level 1-Limited, Level 1 or directly to Level 2 shall be considered a trainee. In the technique/method in which they are preparing for certification, trainees shall:</p><ul><li>
Be documented as a trainee and be actively participating in a training program for a stated NDT method for a limited and specified period of time.</li><li>
Obtain experience under the direct observation of a Level 2 or Level 3 in the same method.</li><li>
Obtain experience under the direct observation of a Level 1 or instructor only when approved by the responsible Level 3.</li><li>
The trainee follows established procedures and part specific technique cards.</li><li>
Report faulty operations, defective material or solutions, and report these and any unusual conditions to proper supervision.</li></ul><p>

Equipment Maintenance &amp; Troubleshooting</b></p><ul><li>

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</b></p><ul><li>
Perform diversified duties to prepare daily production and melting schedules, to prepare charges for furnaces, and to maintain related controls and records. Perform duties of caster, as needed, and assigned.</li><li>
Work from charge sheets, specifications, alloying formulas and / or any special instructions supplied to weigh out and prepare furnace charges.</li><li>
Make necessary calculations to determine proportional quantities for partial charges.</li><li>
Exercise care in selecting and weighing charge component materials to avoid incorrect alloying, intermingling or contamination. Use hand truck or fork lift to deliver charges to furnace areas.</li><li>
Maintain records of material received, on hand and issued; prepare and maintain individual charge records.</li><li>
Following established methods, obtain and prepare virgin metal and heat samples for chemical analysis, and maintain analysis log of all heats and virgin materials, specified allowing and other related data in established form and detail.</li><li>
Take periodic physical inventories.</li><li>
Maintain inventory control records of all virgin, alloying and scrap material on hand; make receipt and issuance entries, extend and total. Prepare periodic use and level reports following established practice.</li><li>
Notify supervision of apparent shortages or excesses brought about by changed material requirements.</li><li>
Detect faulty operations, defective material and report these and any unusual conditions to supervisor.</li></ul><p></p><p><b><br>
SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</b></p><ul><li>
Must comply with all applicable safety requirements, policies and procedures, while maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly work environment.</li><li>
