SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Purchasing Specialist is an integral role within the organization. This individual will report to the Director of Supply Chain and will work closely with team members from all departments within the company. In addition, the Purchasing Specialist serves as a liaison between vendors and Precision Science team members.
SCHEDULE: 7am - 4pm OR 8am - 5pm M-F
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:<ul><li>
Develop, lead, and execute purchasing requirements.</li><li>
Create purchase orders as needed</li><li>
Identify and qualify new vendors</li><li>
Handle communications and negotiations with external suppliers</li><li>
Prepare reports regarding market conditions</li><li>
Notify management of significant price changes</li><li>
Conduct supplier audits</li><li>
Identify and source alternate vendors for key materials</li><li>
Identify new technologies and cost saving strategies</li><li>
Assist in developing quotes for new products</li><li>
Assist in customer repricing</li><li>
Create new part codes in Acumatica</li><li>
Input raw material and component pricing into inventory system</li><li>
Assist with cycle counts and year-end inventory</li><li>
Collaborate with coworkers to ensure business goals are met</li><li>
Source raw materials, packaging and other components ensuring adherence to product specification</li><li>
Support Supply Chain Manager during periods of high demand or vacation</li><li>
Other duties as assigned</li></ul>

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:<ul><li>
5 + years relevant experience</li><li>
Experience with inventory management software, Acumatica or EPR systems preferred</li></ul>
EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATION:<ul><li>
BA/BS degree preferred</li><li>
APICS certification a plus</li></ul>
ESSENTIAL ABILITIES:<ul><li>
Math skills.</li><li>
Ability to monitor inventory levels to ensure timely ordering of raw materials to meet production schedules</li><li>
Excellent time management skills</li><li>
Ability to work effectively across the organization in a team environment</li><li>
Strong verbal and written communication skills</li><li>
Self-motivated and ability to effectively prioritize tasks</li><li>
May be required to work a flexible schedule.</li></ul>
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:<ul><li>
Prolonged sitting and standing.</li></ul></div>
