SUMMARY OF JOB: Dispenses, repairs and sells eyewear to optical customers following the Five Star Program.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:<ul><li>Demonstrates positive behavior towards customers, associates and the Company.</li><li>Assists customers with the selection and fitting of eye wear.</li><li>Inspects and repairs eye wear.</li><li>Assists with the selection of eyewear, magnifiers and optical accessories.</li><li>Solves problems and offers solutions to patients&rsquo; problems with eye wear.</li><li>Maintains neat and attractive dispensing areas.</li><li>Is knowledgeable of and efficiently operates the Company&rsquo;s practice management system and updates patient records.</li><li>Assigns prices to eye wear and returns defective products to the manufacturer.</li><li>Is responsible for periodic inventories.</li><li>Is responsible for knowing the work schedule, observing work hours and maintaining a good attendance record. (See attached attendance and punctuality requirements.)</li><li>Attends in-service programs.</li><li>Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with patients, employees, supervisors and the public. Technical experience is preferred.</li><li>Knowledge and Experience: Requires at least two years of optical work experience.</li><li>Dexterity: Must have good manual dexterity for examining patients and operating equipment. Must be able to function in an office setting.</li><li>Accuracy: Must be able to accurately measure and fit eye wear. Must transcribe information received from patients, including insurance coverage, social security and telephone numbers without error.</li><li>Physical Activity: Physical activity involves keying, reaching, grasping, carrying, looking, listening, talking, bending, lifting, standing, walking, and much sitting, resulting in medium work.</li><li>Exertion Requirements: Medium - must be able to exert force to lift and carry from 20 to 50 pounds up to 10 feet occasionally, from 10 to 15 pounds of force up to 10 feet frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must be able to walk, stand or sit to a significant degree depending on task requirements.</li><li>Working Conditions: Works in an office setting, which is well-lighted, ventilated and temperature regulated. THIS POSITION IS FULL-TIME. CANDIDATES MUST BE ABLE TO WORK MONDAY-FRIDAY.SUMMARY OF JOB:Receives patients for the clinic in a professional and helpful manner and updates and processes patient information expediently and accurately into the Company&rsquo;s practice management system.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:<ul><li>Courteously greets patients as they arrive at the front desk following the Company&rsquo;s Five Star guidelines.</li><li>Updates patient charts and creates new patient charts in the practice management system and inputs patient information into the practice management system without error.</li><li>Prints charge slips, face sheets, HIPAA forms, financial responsibility forms and other appropriate paper work the requires patient signatures.</li><li>Enters appropriate notes in the patient information page during the check in process and initials indicating that the information is correct.</li><li>Monitors each patient as they are checked into the Company&rsquo;s systems ensuring that their medical information is forwarded on to the physician as quickly as possible, thereby ensuring that medical care is not delayed by the check-in process.</li><li>Applies and removes flags on patient data into the practice management system as required.</li><li>Checks on referrals, patient account information and Medicaid eligibility.</li><li>Verifies insurance in the Real Time Eligibility system.</li><li>Checks the GPMS system and paper charts and transfers pertinent patient information into the practice management system.</li><li>Answers the telephone professionally, locates files and distributes paper charts. Employs the use of &ldquo;out guides&rdquo; without fail. (West Office)</li><li>Distributes faxes promptly.</li><li>Updates patient rosters in the Company&rsquo;s computer system for cancellations, &ldquo;no shows&rdquo; and arrivals.</li><li>Is knowledgeable of and efficiently operates the Company&rsquo;s practice management system, printers, fax machines, copiers, scanners, label machines and cameras without error.</li><li>Performs the duties of the Switchboard Operator as needed. (West Office).</li><li>Assists with the training of new employees.</li><li>Is responsible for knowing the work schedule, observing work hours and maintaining a good attendance record.
