We are seeking an experienced Staff Data Engineer to join our Unified Data Platform team. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and maintain enterprise-scale data infrastructure leveraging Azure and Databricks technologies. This role involves building robust data pipelines, optimizing data workflows, and ensuring data quality and governance across the platform. You will collaborate closely with analytics, data science, and business teams to enable data-driven decision-making.<div></div>
Duties &amp; Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Design, build, and optimize data pipelines and workflows in Azure and Databricks, including Data Lake and SQL Database integrations.</li><li>
Implement scalable ETL/ELT frameworks using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Spark.</li><li>
Optimize data structures and queries for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.</li><li>
Drive data quality and governance initiatives, including metadata management and validation frameworks.</li><li>
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement data models aligned with business and analytical requirements.</li><li>
Maintain clear documentation and enforce engineering best practices for reproducibility and maintainability.</li><li>
Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and data privacy standards.</li><li>
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to establishing engineering best practices.</li><li>
Support CI/CD pipeline development for data workflows using GitLab or Azure DevOps.</li><li>
Partner with data consumers to publish curated datasets into reporting tools such as Power BI.</li><li>
Stay current with advancements in Azure, Databricks, Delta Lake, and data architecture trends.</li></ul><div></div>
Technical Skills:<ul><li>
Advanced proficiency in Azure 5+ years (Data Lake, ADF, SQL).</li><li>
Strong expertise in Databricks (5+ years), Apache Spark (5+ years), and Delta Lake (5+ years).</li><li>
Proficient in SQL (10+ years) and Python (5+ years); familiarity with Scala is a plus.</li><li>
Strong understanding of data modeling, data governance, and metadata management.</li><li>
Knowledge of source control (Git), CI/CD, and modern DevOps practices.</li><li>
Familiarity with Power BI visualization tool.</li></ul><div></div>
Minimum Qualifications:<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s or Master&rsquo;s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.</li><li>
7+ years of experience in data engineering, with significant hands-on work in cloud-based data platforms (Azure).</li><li>
Experience building real-time data pipelines and streaming frameworks.</li><li>
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.</li><li>
Proven ability to lead projects and mentor engineers.</li><li>
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.</li></ul>
Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>
Master&rsquo;s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.</li><li>
Exposure to machine learning integration within data engineering pipelines.</li></ul>

Press Ganey&rsquo;s Consulting team is made up of industry leaders with deep expertise in nursing, patient experience, operations and healthcare leadership. As part of Press Ganey&rsquo;s Partnership Consulting team, the Principal, and their team, will offer unique value in the market and for our clients by delivering against their organizational priorities. The team engages quickly to define and align priorities, gather and analyze data and provide strategic recommendations and a partnership plan for execution.
The Principal works within and across the Consulting team to support consulting engagements by gathering and analyzing client and Press Ganey information, developing recommendations and creating presentations. The primary focus of this position is to build pipeline, develop business, and deliver executive report outs.
Additional responsibilities include:<div><ul><li>
Proactively identifies opportunities to assist a client and team in leveraging the Press Ganey relationship by collaborating with and connecting the right resources to the client.</li><li>
Develops strong, lasting trusted advisor business relationships with clients (C-suite Level and Board) that lead to positive references and follow-on work.</li><li>
Effectively directs, guides, and motivates engagement teams including seeking client and team feedback as well as providing coaching and mentoring on engagement delivery and outcomes.</li><li>
Takes ownership of consulting team's actions and results, holding self and others accountable to engagement plans and quality standards.</li><li>
Works with client leadership in helping to understand cross-industry/cross-client approaches to complex issues.</li><li>
Connects existing clients to internal Press Ganey or external industry experts.</li><li>
Establishes project management standards that allow for Senior Associates, Managers and Senior Managers to manage client expectations and perform long-range engagement planning.</li><li>
Develops proposals and budgets for projects based on client needs.</li><li>
Identifies and establishes the expected client outcome.</li><li>
Leads innovation efforts within Consulting that expand methodologies, tools, technology and/or products; builds service line market presence through external content (articles, blogs, whitepapers, etc.).</li><li>
Develops and fosters strong, lasting and &quot;trusted advisor&quot; relationships with clients that lead to expanded business/opportunities.</li><li>
Expands relationships beyond the core focus area of the engagement to ensure relationships with other C-Suite members.</li><li>
Ensures consistency of leadership team in the adherence to standards of quality and performance of all engagement teams.</li><li>
Contributes to development plan to increase team bandwidth based on current and projected market trends.</li><li>
Viewed as a &quot;trusted advisor&quot; by clients based on the ability to proactively identify trends and bring new thinking and solutions.</li><li>
Drives incremental consulting and Press Ganey consulting and product sales of $1.0M or more per year.</li><li>
Leads proposal scope development and pricing across Consulting solution areas and scopes integrated proposals.</li><li>

Qualifications<div><ul><li>
20+ years relevant Industry experience in healthcare industry.</li><li>
Clinical experience on the client side.</li><li>
Team leadership and project management oversight experience.</li><li>
Healthcare consulting experience.</li><li>
Direct experience with consulting implementation strategies.</li><li>
Reliability implementation experience within domains of performance (Experience, Safety, Engagement, Quality, etc.)</li><li>
Excellent conceptual, as well as quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.</li><li>
Impeccable written and verbal communication skills, including ability to positively interact with and influence execs, providers and staff at all levels.</li><li>
Strong facilitation and presentation skills; significant knowledge of healthcare industry and market trends.</li></ul>
Education<ul><li>
Master&rsquo;s degree required from an accredited university. Disciplines preferred include business administration, health policy and administration, finance, or clinical degree (RN, MD, APP, PharmD)</li></ul>
Special Working Conditions<ul><li>
