Essential Functions: <ul><li>Monitor drivers or equipment locations and coordinate service and schedules.</li><li>Relay work orders and information to drivers, according to customer requests and specifications.</li><li>Confer with customers or supervisors to address questions, problems or requests for service or equipment.</li><li>Prepare daily work and run schedules.</li><li>Perform data entry and maintain accurate records of customer requests, work performed, charges, expenses, inventory, and other dispatch-related information.</li><li>Ability to track drivers and update boards effectively</li><li>Advise drivers about traffic problems, such as construction areas, accidents, congestion, weather conditions or other hazards.</li><li>Ensure timely and efficient movement of freight, according to orders and schedules.</li><li>Adhere to company&rsquo;s policy and procedures and ensure that all work is carried out to preset service levels.</li><li>Always maximize profitability on all shipments handled.</li><li>Minimize maintenance and repair expenses, minimize per diem/demurrage and claims issues.</li><li>Build close, strong relationships with all our customers, company drivers, owner operators and service providers.</li><li>Contact vendors or claims adjustment departments to resolve shipment problems or contact service depots to arrange for repairs.</li><li>Advise clients on transportation and payment methods.</li><li>Provide exceptional service, communicate all opportunities and challenges with customers.</li><li>Coordinate closely with customers and other departments to provide safe and efficient world class service.</li><li>Maintain close relationships with the rail carriers to foster excellent service to our customers.</li><li>Program time and effort to allow for adequate time for accomplishment of all administrative and computer tasks</li><li>Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested</li></ul>Requirements:<ul><li>High School diploma (or GED)</li><li>Previous rail drayage dispatching or related transportation dispatching experience preferred but not required</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication, customer service and interpersonal skills, i.e. telephone skills (multi-line, etiquette, friendliness).</li><li>Must be able to multitask(answer phones and emails simultaneously), work efficiently and accurately. Respond to verbal and written instructions and follow up when responses are needed.</li><li>Detailed oriented, work independently and as part of a team and meet deadlines.</li><li>Fast learner and self motivated</li><li>Must have Microsoft office skills (Excel, Word, and Outlook).</li><li>Must speak both English and Spanish proficiently</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timePay: $21.00 per hourExpected hours: 40 per weekBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Ability to Commute:<ul><li>Commerce, CA 90040 (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
