We are currently looking for a Part Time or PRN Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team and provide on-site medical care at the Baltimore County Detention Center in Towson, MD. Shift availability varies but majority is weekends Saturday &amp; Sunday 7a-7p; Saturday 7p-7a Some important key points: Hourly rate range is offered for each shift with shift differential. Varies for weekends shifts also. $60.00 -$70.00 per hour Company-paid liability insurance (including tail coverage) provided. Although part-time and per diem employees are not eligible to accrue paid time off (PTO) under PrimeCare&rsquo;s company policy, you are eligible to accrue &ldquo;sick and safe&rdquo; leave benefits under Maryland&rsquo;s Healthy Working Families Act (i.e., MDSSL). MDSSL accrues at a rate of one (1) hour for every thirty (30) hours of straight time worked, for a maximum annual accrual of sixty-four (64) hours. Job Description: In this role the PA/NP will be performing physical examinations on all newly incarcerated inmates/patients, as well as evaluating sick inmates/patients, and present your observations to the attending physician. You will be responsible for performing a variety of duties such as suturing and administering injections and medications, drawing blood samples, and evaluate of diagnostic findings. Other responsibilities will include: Ensuring complete, accurate and timely medical entries are made for each inmate/patient contact. Providing counseling and education on common medical problems. Performing histories and physicals on all newly committed inmates/patients in accordance with NCCHC/ACA Standards, facility requirements, and PCM policies and procedures. Complying with standards of care in accordance with NCCHC/ACA and accepted healthcare standards. Developing and conducting in-service education programs according to annual in-service calendar, as assigned by PCM Medical Director and/or Administrator. Reviewing inmate/patient records to determine health status and initiate necessary treatment. Screening inmate/patient sick call requests to determine appropriate follow up care. Evaluating inmate/patients at sick call for common complaints. Ordering appropriate laboratory tests and X-rays. Ordering specialty consultations when indicated. Providing other services as required at the request of the PCM Medical Director and/or Administrator. Providing ongoing, continuous care for inmates/patients with chronic medical problems such as asthma, hypertension, and diabetes. Collecting specimens for and carrying out commonly performed blood, urine, and stool analyses and cultures. Evaluating and initiating treatment in emergency situations such as cardiac arrest, respiratory distress, hemorrhage, burns, and injuries. Prescribing therapeutic modalities such as medications and diets in accordance with regulations. This position is exciting and fast paced, and as such we must have someone who is able to multi-task well and has excellent time management skills. They must also have the ability to work independently and be comfortable with making patient diagnosis on their own. Requirements: Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant program. Minimum Two (2) years of experience working as a NP or PA-C Board Certified. Licensed to practice Medicine in the Maryland. Maintain current DEA license. Maintain active BLS (i.e. CPR) certification. Maintain current Driver&rsquo;s License.

Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner

Description: Professional Care Medical Practice P.C. is currently looking for a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or Licensed Social Worker (LMSW or LCSW) to work as a Behavioral Health Professional in the medical department at the Saratoga County Correctional Facility in Ballston Spa, NY. This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position, Monday through Friday, during normal business hours (i.e, no weekends). Salary range is $60,000.00 - $75,000.00. Responsibilities: In this role the clinician is responsible for the clinical monitoring, coordinating and implementing of the mental health program in accordance with NCCHC standards and will serve as the mental health liaison between the medical unit and facility staff. Primary job responsibilities include: Conduct clinical assessments based on referrals and self-referrals. Assessments include documentation of findings, including at a minimum a mental status examination and case conceptualization, diagnosis, and treatment plan. Makes referrals to psychiatry when appropriate. Risk assessments are to be conducted utilizing structured interviews and risk assessment tools. Inmates at risk for suicide and / or engaging in self-harm are managed utilizing existing protocols according to current policy and procedures. Serve as the PCM mental health liaison for mental health services, outside the facility. Facilitates admission and placement of inmates/patients to forensic hospitals when necessary. Monitors all mental health services provided. Monitors clinical services to ensure that standards of care are in accordance with NCCHC and accepted psychiatric/ psychological standards. Is a member of the Quality Assurance Committee. Develops and conducts in-service education programs according to annual in-service calendar.
