Duration: 1 year contract 
Shift Schedule: Flexible remote schedule based on productivity requirements Credentialing / Onboarding Time: Approximately 4 6 weeks License: 
Not required Certifications: 
Must hold one of the following certifications from AHIMA or AAPC:
<ul><li>CPC (Certified Professional Coder)
</li><li>CCS (Certified Coding Specialist)
</li><li>CCS-P
</li><li>RHIT / RHIA (or equivalent coding certification)
</li></ul>Experience Needed: 
Typically 3+ years of medical coding experience Coding Systems Experience:
<ul><li>ICD-10-CM
</li><li>CPT
</li><li>HCPCS
</li></ul>Special Skills Needed:
<ul><li>Experience with EHR / RPMS systems preferred
</li><li>Knowledge of CMS coding regulations and Correct Coding Initiative (CCI)
</li><li>Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance coding rules
</li></ul>Responsibilities
<ul><li>Perform remote medical coding services for patient visits at Zuni Comprehensive Community Health Center.
</li><li>Review clinical documentation and assign appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
</li><li>Ensure coding compliance with CMS regulations and federal coding standards.
</li><li>Identify documentation discrepancies and submit queries to providers for clarification.
</li><li>Abstract relevant clinical information and identify secondary diagnoses and comorbidities.
</li><li>Maintain coding accuracy and comply with facility quality assurance and audit requirements.
</li><li>Complete coding within four (4) calendar days of visit date unless documentation delays occur.
</li><li>Meet productivity and accuracy standards established by the facility.

<ul><li>Productivity tracked using DXV coding productivity reports.
</li><li>Coders must maintain 95% coding accuracy.
</li></ul>Important Notes
<ul><li>Work is fully remote but supports an IHS facility in New Mexico.
</li><li>Contractor must provide computer equipment, secure internet, and VPN access capability.
</li><li>Coding must be completed within the IHS RPMS/EHR system.
