<b>About the Position</b><br>
The Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPW&amp;T) is seeking a qualified applicant to fill a Masonry Mechanic Ill position in the Office of Storm Drain Maintenance. This is lead/supervisory manual cement/brick finishing work accomplished in conjunction with the construction and repair of bridges, retaining walls, construction or replacement of residential sidewalks and curbs, drainage structures and head walls. The incumbent will lead the work of a crew of skilled crafts and labor positions. Work is performed under general supervision in accordance with departmental policies, rules, and regulations. This work involves exposure to hazards, risks, or discomforts typical of working with or around machinery with exposed moving parts, irritant chemicals, fumes, or airborne particles. Work is performed outdoors in varying weather conditions with exposure to the elements requiring intermittent standing, walking, stooping, climbing. Incumbents must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 lbs. regularly. Incumbents must wear and maintain a uniform and safety equipment such as hard hats, steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and gloves. The incumbent's supervisor will determine and communicate specific requirements based on the position assigned. DPW&amp;T employees are considered &quot;Essential&quot; and are required to participate in the Department's Snow and Ice Control Program during natural and man-made disasters and during special operations/activities as assigned. Essential employees are expected to report for work or remain at work when other employees are granted Administrative Leave.<br>

<b>About The Agency</b><br>
The Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPW&amp;T) is responsible for nearly 2,000 miles of County-maintained roadways that range from rural to urban classifications. The transportation infrastructure includes 900 bridges, as well as shoulders, sidewalks, curbs/gutters, stormwater management facilities, driveway aprons and nearly 3,000 acres of grassy area - all of which are maintained by staff of the Department. DPW&amp;T&rsquo;s workforce keeps the County&rsquo;s various services moving by performing a myriad of activities which include removing snow and ice from County-maintained roadways, upgrading traffic signals, installing streetlights, clearing fallen trees, unclogging drainage inlets and maintaining stormwater management facilities, as well as performing roadway repairs ranging from potholes and sidewalk trip hazards to bridge repairs and resurfacing projects and more.</div><p></p>

Leads crews to ensure that work performed is completed promptly in accordance with Departmental policies, standards, and specifications.</li><li>
Mixing, placing, and finishes concrete surfaces and storm drain structures.</li><li>
Laying bricks for manholes, walls, and inlets structures.</li><li>
Performs carpentry work to set forms.</li><li>
Finishing surfaces with hand and power tools.</li><li>
Interprets plans and standard details.</li><li>
Cut and shape masonry materials to the required dimensions and construct structures according to the specified alignment.</li><li>

<p></p><div><p>Under the direction of the Administrative Judge, the primary function of this position is to collect, formulate, create, and disseminate information to external and internal stakeholders, including, but not limited to, staff, the general public, and justice partners. These functions include daily events-related assignments, scheduling, photography, writing, chairing, and coordinating the special projects committee, as well as editing communications projects that contribute to, benefit from, and enhance the messages of the Circuit Court for Prince George's County.</p></div><br>

Serves as the first point of contact for public and media inquiries into gaining access to live court cases.</li><li>

Develops and prepares well-designed finished materials for approved messaging, such as speeches, media advisories, press releases, articles, scripts, bulletins, pamphlets, Employee Internal newsletters, weekly messages, emergency messages, flyers, brochures, publications, and Annual reports for the Maryland Judiciary.</li><li>
