</p><p></p><div>The Prince George&rsquo;s County Memorial Library System (PGCMLS) is seeking an energetic, customer focused Circulation Assistant to join the team at the Oxon Hill Branch Library. This position offers hands-on experience and the opportunity to support a welcoming community space.</div><div></div><div><br>
Please note that fluency in both English and Spanish is required. To be eligible for additional hourly compensation, bilingual candidates must successfully complete a three-part Spanish assessment covering oral, listening, and reading skills. Once hired, bilingual staff will assist with interpretation and translation as needed.</div><div></div><div><br>
The work schedule includes a mix of daytime, evening, and weekend hours. Employees are expected to work two evening shifts per week from 11:30-8pm and rotate coverage on Fridays and Saturdays.</div><div></div><div>
</div><p></p><div><div><b>Essential Duties:</b></div></div><ul><li><div><div>
Deliver friendly, responsive customer service, greeting customers, answering phones, and assisting at the service desk</div></div></li><li><div><div>
Manage library accounts by registering, verifying, renewing, and maintaining accurate records</div></div></li><li><div><div>
Support daily circulation activities, including checking materials in/out and processing holds</div></div></li><li><div><div>
Handle fines and fees, balance cash drawers, and assist with daily cash reporting</div></div></li><li><div><div>
Respond to customer inquiries and escalate concerns when appropriate</div></div></li><li><div><div>
Sort, shelve, and organize materials to ensure timely access and accurate placement</div></div></li><li><div><div>
Assist with the delivery and distribution of materials and supplies between branch locations</div></div></li><li><div><div>
Perform minor repairs to books and materials as needed</div></div></li><li><div><div>
Maintain neat, organized workspaces, displays, and bulletin boards; manage lost and found</div></div></li><li><div><div>
Prepare correspondence, reports, and maintain departmental files</div></div></li><li><div><div>
Order and track office supplies</div></div></li><li><div><div>
Support scheduling updates and department calendars</div></div></li><li><div><div>
Help train new staff and participate in meetings and professional development</div></div></li><li><div><div>
Adhere to all policies, procedures, safety protocols, and union contract</div></div></li><li><div><div>
Perform other duties and support special projects as assigned</div></div></li></ul></div></div><div><div><div><b>
Qualifications:</b></div></div><ul><li><div><div>
High school diploma or GED</div></div></li><li><div><div>
One (1) year of customer service or related experience; library experience preferred</div></div></li><li><div><div>
Strong interpersonal and communication skills</div></div></li><li><div><div>
Ability to work effectively in a public facing, multi-tasking environment</div></div></li><li><div><div>
Demonstrated organization and problem-solving skills</div></div></li><li><div><div>
Ability to work independently and as part of a team</div></div></li><li><div><div>
Proficiency with standard office tools (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, databases, email, internet)</div></div></li><li><div><div>

<div><div><div><div>Join our team as a Clerical Aide in Glenarden, MD. This position supports day to day operations through customer service, data entry, and general administrative tasks.</div><div>

Enter and update customer records in the library database.</li><li>
Organize and maintain files, records, and display areas.</li><li>
Sort and shelve materials accurately.</li><li>
