The Senior Portfolio Analyst role within Principal Asset Allocation&rsquo;s (PAA) Portfolio Management team ($250 billion in assets) is responsible for the day-to-day research and implementation of open-architecture, multi-manager equity strategies. This role supports core-satellite strategies in portfolio construction and management decisions across six active equity strategies through quantitative research and analysis of approximately $20 billion in AUM.</div><p></p><p><b><br>
What </b><b>You&rsquo;ll</b><b> Do</b></p><ul><li>
Lead research efforts focused on developing, enhancing, and maintaining systematic indicators to inform portfolio management decisions, including active-passive allocations, manager allocations, and portfolio construction across core-satellite portfolios</li><li>
Enhance active-passive implementation frameworks to determine the optimal use of active managers, passive exposures, and blended structures based on market conditions, macro trends, and asset class dynamics</li><li>
Design and maintain systematic risk mitigation signals, including mean reversion and stop-loss frameworks, to guide tactical positioning</li><li>
Build, maintain, and enhance quantitative models and analytical frameworks used for portfolio optimization, signal generation, scenario analysis, and performance attribution</li><li>
Monitor portfolio risk exposures, including sector, regional, factor, style, and macroeconomic risks, ensuring alignment with investment objectives and risk tolerances</li><li>
Conduct research on market structure, behavioral finance, factor dynamics, and systematic investment strategies to support portfolio outcomes</li><li>
Support portfolio management decision-making through analysis that informs portfolio allocation recommendations</li></ul>
Who You Are:
<ul><li>Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in finance, economics, accounting, or another technical field</li><li>
8+ years related experience that includes quantitative research, risk management, risk analysis</li><li>
Experience working with equities or equity portfolios, including exposure to portfolio construction, manager selection, or equity market analysis</li><li>
Strong understanding of portfolio construction, asset allocation, manager selection and risk management</li><li>
Programming experience (Python, R, C++, SQL)</li><li>
Experience with performance or risk-based platforms such as Factset, Barra, Bloomberg, Morningstar</li></ul><div><b><br>

Salary Range Information: Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. In this role, you will provide support to the U.S. Property Portfolio Team through performance analysis, reporting, modeling and data-driven insights to help inform investment and strategy level decisions. In addition, you will assist portfolio managers with client and consultant engagement by providing data-oriented insights and participation in external communication.</div><br>

Reporting/Analytics: Prepare recurring portfolio, financial reports and presentations under guidance from senior staff. Who You Are:
<ul><li>Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience in finance, business or related field. Emphasis in real estate preferred.</li><li>
Working knowledge of commercial real estate modeling techniques including ARGUS is preferred. High proficiency in Microsoft Excel required; experience with modeling software/analysis tools is preferred.</li><li>
Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).</li><li>
Success in this position requires attention to detail, a strong quantitative financial background and the ability to make effective decisions.</li><li>
