Use hand-welding or flame-cutting equipment to weld or join metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
<ul>
<li>Operate safety equipment, and use safe work habits.</li>
<li>Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.</li>
<li>Ignite torches or start power supplies and strike arcs by touching electrodes to metals being welded, completing electrical circuits.</li>
<li>Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind and/or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.</li>
<li>Detect faulty operation of equipment and/or defective materials, and notify supervisors.</li>
<li>Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments, using processes such as gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, flux-cored arc, plasma arc, shielded metal arc, resistance welding, and submerged arc welding.</li>
<li>Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material.</li>
<li>Examine work pieces for defects, and measure work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.</li>
<li>Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment.</li>
<li>Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers.</li>
<li>Performs other related duties as required.</li>
</ul>
Educational and Other Requirements: 
<ul>
<li>High School diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.</li>
<li>Minimum one (1) year work related skill, knowledge, and hands on experience or vocational training preferred, but not required.</li>
<li>Must stay in position for at least two (2) years depending on prior experience before promoting to Welder II.</li>
<li>Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.</li>
<li>Sensitive to confidential information.</li>
<li>Must work independently and as a member of team.</li>
</ul>
Mental and Physical Requirements: 
<ul>
<li>Able to read, speak and write English.</li>
<li>Strong physical and mental health to maintain demanding workload.</li>
<li>Able to work under stressful conditions at times.</li>
<li>Climbing - able to go up and down stairs.</li>
<li>Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.</li>
<li>Able to wear common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats when needed, including welding safety equipment.</li>
<li>Position will consistently dictate 40 - 60 hours per week with frequent overtime demands based on the workload requirements.</li>
<li>Position will require some (6) six day weeks when workload demands, with time off scheduled per current workload and other staff availability.</li>
<li>Strong work ethics of integrity and honesty strives for excellence in all activities employing accompanying communication.</li>
<li>Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.</li>
<li>Identifying information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events.</li>

Responsible for incoming parts and delivery to appropriate destinations. Responsibilities include charging out parts to proper units and maintaining inventory, security and integrity of parts department.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
<ul>
<li>Receives, unpacks and counts stock items, and records data manually or electronically.</li>
<li>Retrieves stocked items or parts, packs items and delivers to designated recipients.</li>
<li>Maintains inventory levels; assists in maintaining inventory control.</li>
<li>Stores items in an orderly and accessible manner in parts department, supply rooms, or other areas.</li>
<li>Communicates inventory levels and related matters with other departments.</li>
<li>Maintain integrity of parts room and related secured areas.</li>
<li>Performs other related duties as assigned.</li>
</ul>
Educational and Other Requirements: 
<ul>
<li>Basic education, reading, writing and math skills needed to perform responsibilities.</li>
<li>Previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is preferred.</li>
<li>General knowledge of state and federal regulations for storing stock.</li>
<li>General knowledge of machinery, equipment, parts or warehouse activities preferred.</li>
<li>General knowledge and skills used to help others required.</li>
<li>Must gain at least two years of experience, or equivalent knowledge, skill and training before promoting to Parts Clerk II.</li>
<li>Sensitive to confidential information.</li>
<li>Must work independently and as a member of team.</li>
</ul>
