In this role, you'll partner closely with providers caring for patients in Weight Management, Bone Health, and Men's &amp; Women's Midlife Health. You'll build lasting relationships with patients while supporting wellness, healthy aging, preventive care, and chronic disease management in a collaborative outpatient setting. </p><p><b>What You'll Do:</b></p>
<ul><li><p>Room patients and prepare them for provider visits by obtaining vital signs, updating medical histories, medications, and health maintenance information.</p>
</li><li><p>Assist providers with examinations, procedures, medication administration, injections, and point-of-care testing.</p>
</li><li><p>Perform EKGs, specimen collection, therapeutic treatments, and other clinical duties within scope of practice.</p>
</li><li><p>Document patient care accurately in Epic and assist with prescription refills, prior authorizations, and patient follow-up.</p>
</li><li><p>Educate patients on provider instructions, treatment plans, and healthy lifestyle recommendations.</p>
</li><li><p>Maintain exam rooms, supplies, medications, and equipment while supporting a safe and efficient clinic environment.</p>
</li><li><p>Collaborate closely with providers and teammates to deliver an exceptional patient experience.</p><br>
</li></ul><p></p><p><b>What You'll Need:</b></p>
<ul><li><p>Current Medical Assistant, EMT, or LPN certification/licensure (or equivalent clinical training).</p>
</li><li><p>Current BLS certification.</p>
</li><li><p>High school diploma or equivalent.</p>
</li><li><p>If not certified/licensed, a minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience may be considered.</p>
</li><li><p>Strong communication, organization, teamwork, and patient service skills.</p>

</p><p>ProHealth Care offers a system-wide laboratory operation with core hospital labs at Waukesha Memorial and Oconomowoc Memorial as well as two clinic-based laboratory sites in Waukesha County. The laboratory performs over 8 million tests annually.</p><p><br>
</p><p>Our Lab services operate state of the art facilities and include clinical testing in the areas of Histology, Cytology, Hematology, Coagulation, Clinical Chemistry, Urinalysis, Immunoassay, Microbiology, Transfusion service, EIA, and Molecular Biology. ProHealth Care offers a vibrant outreach program, providing laboratory testing to numerous specialty hospitals, physician offices, nursing home, and assisted living facilities. Our Pathologists and PhDs work closely with lab employees to monitor quality, as well as identify, access, and implement new technology. The Laboratory has certification and accreditation through the College of American Pathologists (CAP), American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA).</p>
<div><div><div><div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>What You Will Do:</b></h2>
</div><div><p>Performs specimen procurement procedures in various hospital departments and off-site Client locations such as Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF), Assisted Living (AL) Facilities, Group Homes, Behavioral Health Facilities, Rehabilitation Facilities, Community Based Residential Facilities (CBRF), and other long-term care facilities. Procures blood specimens from patients by means of venipuncture, capillary, or arterial collection. Drives ProHealth Care Laboratory vehicles and must maintain a valid driver&rsquo;s license and a safe driving record. Performs computer transcription and tasks related to documentation of specimen collection and specimen receipt in the Electronic Health Record. Reconciles end-of-shift workload reports and hands-off to incoming shift using AIDET in all communications. May provide patient instruction relative to collection of blood and non-blood specimens. May perform and result CLIA-waived testing. Acts as a liaison between the laboratory and nurses or other healthcare providers. Must have the ability to work at various PHC Lab locations as needed.</p><br>

<li>Completion of an approved Phlebotomy program preferred</li>

What You Will Do:</b></h2>

The Clinical Laboratory Assistant/Phlebotomist is responsible for specimen procurement, handling/processing and transport. This individual is also responsible for the following:</p><br>
<p></p>
<ul><li>Efficiently performs venipuncture, capillary and arterial collections with minimum discomfort and according to established policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Establishes positive identification of the patient prior to performing procedures.</li>
<li>Accurately and completely labels specimens according to established laboratory policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Provides patient instruction relative to the collection of non-blood specimens.</li>
<li>Appropriately prioritizes specimen collection requests. Responds to Stat, times and routine specimen collection requests in a timely manner as ordered.</li>
<li>Processes specimens for testing in the laboratory.</li>
<li>Transport specimens and blood products between sites, as needed</li></ul><br>
