LDAR Site Supervisor (Leak Detection and Repair)
 
Also Known As / Secondary Titles: LDAR Program Supervisor – Refinery Environmental Compliance, Environmental Compliance Supervisor, LDAR & Environmental Programs Supervisor
 
PROtect is looking for an experienced LDAR Supervisor to lead Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) and Benzene Waste Operations NESHAP (BWON) programs at a major refinery site in Norco. LA. This role is ideal for a seasoned LDAR professional who enjoys leading field teams, solving technical challenges, and ensuring environmental compliance for complex industrial operations.
 
As an LDAR Supervisor, you’ll oversee day-to-day LDAR and BWON activities, mentor technicians, support compliance programs, and work closely with customers and internal leadership to deliver high-quality environmental services.

What You'll Do
 
Lead LDAR & BWON Operations
 
<ul>
<li>Oversee LDAR and BWON monitoring programs to ensure compliance with EPA, state, and site requirements</li>
<li>Manage program inventories, monitoring schedules, and compliance documentation</li>
<li>Ensure monitoring data, calibration records, and databases are accurate and audit-ready</li>
<li>Provide technical guidance and field support to LDAR and inventory teams</li>
<li>Support development and improvement of standard operating procedures (SOPs)</li>
</ul>
Lead & Develop Field Teams
 
<ul>
<li>Coach and mentor LDAR technicians and inventory staff</li>
<li>Help develop team members’ skills and support career advancement</li>
<li>Support onboarding and field training for new hires</li>
<li>Coordinate staffing, scheduling, and travel to ensure project coverage</li>
</ul>
Safety & Compliance
 
<ul>
<li>Review Job Safety Assessments (JSAs) and ensure proper PPE and equipment</li>
<li>Maintain current knowledge of environmental and safety regulations</li>
<li>Partner with Safety leadership to ensure required training is completed</li>
<li>Promote a strong safety culture across all operations</li>
</ul>
Client & Project Support
 
<ul>
<li>Lead project coordination and maintain status updates for customers</li>
<li>Support quoting, estimating, and proposal development</li>
<li>Identify opportunities to improve customer programs</li>
<li>Collaborate with internal subject matter experts to support new LDAR/BWON services</li>
</ul>
Systems & Program Management
 
<ul>
<li>Manage equipment suppliers for monitoring tools, calibration gas, and tags</li>
<li>Support administrative needs including timesheets, job sheets, and expense reporting</li>
<li>Communicate project status and resource needs with internal leadership</li>
</ul>
What We're Looking For
 
Experience
 
<ul>
<li>7–10 years of experience in LDAR or industrial environmental services</li>
<li>Experience in refinery, petrochemical, or industrial environments</li>
<li>Previous supervisory or team leadership experience</li>
<li>BWON program experience strongly preferred (inventory, monitoring, reporting)</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of EPA and state environmental regulations</li>
<li>Experience managing remote or multi-site field teams</li>
</ul>
Education
 
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a technical field preferred</li>
<li>Equivalent industry experience will be considered</li>
</ul>
Technical Skills
 
<ul>
<li>Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)</li>
<li>Excellent communication and leadership abilities</li>
<li>Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects</li>
<li>Ability to work independently in both field and office environments</li>
<li>Willingness to travel as needed</li>
</ul>
Work Environment
 
This role includes both office and industrial field environments. Work may involve:
 
<ul>
<li>Extended periods of sitting or standing</li>
<li>Working outdoors in varying weather conditions</li>
<li>Exposure to industrial environments including noise, fumes, and temperature changes</li>
<li>Climbing, working at heights, and confined space entry</li>
<li>Lifting up to 25 lbs occasionally</li>
</ul>
