Title: Program Coordinator of Civics and AdvocacyStatus: Non-Exempt, Full-time/ HourlyDescription: Under supervision, the Program Coordinator facilitates youth centered civic engagement and political literacy programming. This position is responsible for the direct coordination of successful programmatic deliverables and maintaining positive community partnerships. This position will collaborate with colleagues, partners and systems on an ongoing basis to engage and support program participants. This person will be a high-energy, results-oriented, self-starting leader, capable of quickly taking control and anticipating needs. The essential function of this role and as required by our contract with our funders are DOJ and FBI background checkPrimary Responsibilities:<ul><li>Maintain daily detailed communication with Supervisor via the utilization of Teams chat, email, excel documentation, and calendar documentation.</li><li>Maintain detailed and thorough communication with program participants, partners and clients, while accommodating communication modes.</li><li>Maintain record of communication with all external parties.</li><li>Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, community partners, leaders, systems, and youth.</li><li>Maintain rapport and build new partnerships with youth serving systems.</li><li>Represent the agency at community meetings and events in a professional manner.</li><li>Design and implement direct services of assigned programs including facilitation and planning of program meetings and supervision of youth participants.</li><li>Present program curriculum for assigned program(s) which will include the following topics: Healthy relationships, substance use prevention, mental health and wellness, workforce readiness, sex education, mentoring, etc.</li><li>Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, community partners, leaders, parents, school administration, and youth.</li><li>Curate program activities that relate to the youth population served.</li><li>Conduct and implement administrative support to ensure the success of program operations.</li><li>Implement program evaluation and monitoring tasks as identified.</li><li>Administer program attendance, hour logs, and complete required reports as scheduled.</li><li>Complete all required documentation pertaining to the grant's needs.</li><li>Maintain confidentiality due to nature of work. Abide by confidentiality and governing policies.</li><li>Understand and respect political dynamics and differences.</li><li>Increase awareness of PRO&rsquo;s mission and programs through marketing campaigns. Uphold and demonstrate the organization values.</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li><li>This role is a mandated reporter; training will be provided.</li></ul>Knowledge of:<ul><li>Issues related to high-risk youth &amp; youth development, particularly those which relate to substance abuse, violence, ethnic &amp; culture and geographic differences and the subsequent problems.</li><li>The educational system, including public schools, vocational/technical schools and colleges.</li><li>Youth Development Principals and Practices.</li><li>Preventative measures to prevent youth from disengaging from their community.</li><li>Facilitation skills (content/activity creation, presentation development, public speaking).</li><li>Minimal proficiency in graphic design.</li><li>Public and Private educational systems.</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Youth engagement, group facilitation / coordination.</li><li>Knowledge of community resources and school programs.</li><li>High school diploma or GED.</li><li>Supervisory responsibility of program participants.</li><li>Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills.</li><li>Management skills; ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers. Self- reliant, good problem solver, results oriented. Ability to make decisions in a changing environment and anticipate future needs.</li></ul>Demonstrated Ability To:<ul><li>Communicate and work effectively with program staff, requiring tact, diplomacy, discretion and maintaining confidentiality.</li><li>Analyze situations and carry out appropriate and effective action based on established procedures.</li><li>Work independently, set priorities, develop goals and actively seek out program resources.</li><li>Have access to reliable transportation</li><li>Initiate work and projects with minimal direction.</li><li>Effective verbal and written communication skills that simplify and easily communicate concepts and issues.</li><li>Work efficiently and effectively in a team environment as well as independently as a self-starter.</li><li>Ability to apply critical thinking while executing transactions and tasks.</li><li>Manage multiple projects with conflicting deadlines simultaneously.</li><li>Bilingual skills not required but appreciated.</li><li>Have access to reliable transportation.</li></ul>Other Requirements:<ul><li>Capable of providing Employment Eligibility Verification.</li><li>Thorough knowledge of general office software, particularly Microsoft Office Suite.</li><li>Complete and pass a background screening.</li><li>Possess a Valid California Driver&rsquo;s license and evidence of insurance coverage.</li><li>Mandatory program / job requirement training.</li><li>Criminal justice fingerprint clearance.</li><li>Valid government issued identification / driver&rsquo;s license.</li><li>Proof of current vehicle insurance.</li><li>Tuberculosis testing mandatory.</li></ul>Travel Requirements:<ul><li>Daily regional travel to program sites</li></ul>Work Environment and Physical Demands:<ul><li>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee may be required on occasion to lift and or carry up to 25 lbs.</li><li>The employee frequently is required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.</li><li>Occasionally the employee will be required to perform work out of the office or other facilities.</li></ul>Location and Work Hours:<ul><li>Work is a Hybrid position (remote, at the corporate offices at 3841 N. Freeway Blvd, Suite 210, Sacramento, Ca 95834, and at various programmatic sites across the Sacramento region)</li><li>Work hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours and place of work may change to special situations.
