Position Summary: 

The Microbiology Technician conducts microbiological and laboratory analyses, ensuring compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). Responsibilities include calibrations, verifications, sample preparation and tracking, out-of-specification (OOS) investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires effective workload planning and collaboration with laboratory and production teams to deliver timely, high-quality results. The technician also supports quality operations on the manufacturing floor. 
Schedule: Sunday - Thursday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. MST, or Tuesday - Saturday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. 
Key Job Duties:
<ul>
<li>Perform microbiological and physical analyses of raw, in-process, and finished materials (GMP environment)</li>
<li>Maintain and restock laboratory supplies</li>
<li>Conduct stability testing and prepare media</li>
<li>Record and archive analytical results (paper/electronic)</li>
<li>Monitor cold storage, incubators, and stability chambers; escalate issues as needed 
</li>
<li>Manage environmental monitoring programs and documentation (GMP/GLP) 
</li>
<li>Maintain a clean, organized laboratory (inventory control, sanitation) 
</li>
<li>Review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) 
</li>
<li>Coordinate sample submissions to internal and third-party labs 
</li>
<li>Support raw material sampling and release documentation 
</li>
<li>Assist with quality systems monitoring (ATP/allergen, scale verifications, temperature monitoring, production line clearance) 
</li>
<li>Undertake additional duties or special projects assigned. 
</li>
<li>Proactively identify and suggest process improvements</li></ul>

<li>Advanced computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite; ERP/QMS systems)</li>

<li>Experience with quality tools (five-why analysis, flow charts, check sheets) 
</li>
<li>Basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting skills 
</li>
<li>Adaptability to new systems and processes 
</li>
<li>Must be able to work safely in laboratory and manufacturing environments and ensure the safety of others.</li>
<li>Must be comfortable around heavy equipment and be able to lift 40 lbs. 
</li>
<li>Able to adhere to strict confidentiality policies and procedures. 
</li>
<li>Ability to read, write, and converse in the English language. 
</li>
<li>Must follow GMP/GLP, PPE, and company safety policies in the performance of job duties. 
</li>
<li>Must maintain good attendance. 
</li>
<li>Able to pass a background check.</li></ul> 


Work Experience and Education Requirements:
<ul>
<li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in microbiology/biology, or other related science, or 10+ years of progressive experience related to microbiology analysis</li>
<li>Minimum 1 year experience in GMP microbiology laboratory</li></ul>
