Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesInclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.<ul><li>R&amp;D projects - Contribute to the design and construction of new tools, methods, procedures and processes in the lab.</li><li>Lead the projects or assist the scientists with the troubleshooting of laboratory related issues.</li><li>Provide technical support to existing methods and analysis solutions.</li><li>Prepare and present study results.</li><li>Writing technical reports and method/instrument SOPs.</li><li>Collaborate with Clinical team to meet CLIA, CAP, and GLP/GMP requirements.</li><li>Work with the R&amp;D team on development and validation of molecular and MALDI-TOF based assays.</li><li>Development and improvement of PCR- or NGS-based molecular biology tests.</li><li>Lead to develop the automation workflow and reagents preparation for manufacturing the products.</li><li>Manage R&amp;D projects and technicians with limited or no supervision.</li><li>Authorized access to general laboratory</li><li>Non-Testing Personnel</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>MA, or Ph.D. degree in a relevant biology/chemistry discipline preferred.</li><li>Peer reviewed publications preferred.</li><li>Familiar with NGS industry experience spanning DNA extraction through sample analysis.</li><li>Experience and knowledge in the genetic clinical lab or IVF experience is preferred.</li><li>Knowledge of basic molecular biology techniques (i.e., PCR, DNA quantitation, library preparation etc.) as well as understanding of the various platforms of NGS (Illumina, Ion Torrent, Nanopore, MGI etc.).</li><li>Experience with bioinformatic analysis tools would be beneficial for this role given the large amounts of data typically found in next generation sequencing, and server maintenance.</li><li>Familiarity with liquid handlers and other automation tools is desirable.</li><li>Demonstrate innovation, adaptability, and schedule flexibility; consider a dynamic environment as an opportunity to learn and grow.</li><li>Exceptional problem-solving and organization.</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication.</li><li>Ability to work independently &amp; as a team.</li></ul>Physical Requirements<ul><li>Repetitive movement of hands, arms, legs and fingers (typing and/or writing).</li><li>Exposure to general office environment conditions.</li><li>Sitting, with occasional walking, standing, stooping and moving about.</li><li>Occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds.</li></ul>Pay: From $80,000.00 per yearBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>401(k) matching</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Flexible spending account</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Work Location: In person
