The opportunity
The Associate Resident Services Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Resident Services Coordinator with the daily operation of the Family Resource Center, which provides programs and services for the benefit of residents, which include youth, adults and the elderly who live in the community. The primary responsibility will be assisting in the running of the after-school program. The Family Resource Center is located on the grounds of the housing apartment community.
What you'll do<ul><li>
Assist with linking residents with existing programs and services in the community and facilitate access</li><li>
Assist Resident Services Coordinator with developing and maintaining partnerships with local providers of services to use Resource Center as platform in which to deliver services.</li><li>
30% of time may be spent providing direct service and overseeing the After-School and Teen Programs which will include: planning, organizing, and implementing curriculum, monitoring participant progress, and providing a stimulating, educational enhancement program.</li><li>
Provide translation and interpretation services</li><li>
Serve as a representative in the community for services offered to residents</li><li>
Assist with coordinating the staffing and presentation of onsite classes, programs, and services</li><li>
Assist with coordinating community building events and activities</li><li>
Assist with translating the monthly newsletter and calendar of events for distribution to residents</li><li>
Assist with maintaining the resource directory that lists local service providers</li><li>
Assist in the collection of resident demographic data and compilation of evaluation reports</li></ul>
What you'll bring<ul><li>
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred</li><li>
One year of experience in multi-family housing or related fields such as social services or community outreach; or a Bachelor's Degree (completed or in-progress) in Social Work, Human Services, or related field.</li><li>
Minimum of one year experience in both:</li><li>
after-school programs or educational settings for youth</li><li>
serving diverse populations, demonstrating cultural competency and community awareness.</li><li>
Strong communicator; high level of verbal, written, and listening skills</li><li>
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Email, and Internet</li><li>
Strong time management, administrative, and organizational skills.</li><li>
The physical activity of this position includes minimal bending, walking, kneeling, reaching, and step climbing. Able to lift up to 30 pounds, which includes large boxes of food for a supplemental food distribution program.</li></ul><h1 class="jobSectionHeader">
Credentials/Certifications</h1><ul><li>
Valid Driver&rsquo;s License, clean driving record, and current automobile insurance</li><li>
CPR &amp; First Aid certified (or obtained within 90 days of hire)</li><li>
Successful completion of background check</li></ul>
The details:<ul><li>
This is a part-time (29 hrs/wk), non-exempt position</li><li>
Schedule: Mon/Tues/Weds/Fri: 12pm-5:30pm, Thurs: 10am-5:30pm. Ability to work occasional Saturday for an event. Schedule subject to change.</li><li>
Location: Meadowbrook Apartments, 7844 Paradise Valley Rd., San Diego, CA 92139</li><li>
Wage: $23.00/hr</li><li>
