<div>Position Summary
The Director of Nursing assumes authority, responsibility, and accountability for the delivery of nursing services at a designated facility.
 Primary Duties &amp; Responsibilities<ul><li>
Provides leadership for nursing department personnel</li><li>
Develops, maintains, and implements nursing policies and procedures that conform to current standards of nursing practice, facility philosophy, and operational policies while maintaining compliance with state and federal licensing/accreditation agencies laws, regulations and guidelines</li><li>
Evaluates the work performance of direct report nursing personnel and provides oversight of next-level personnel, determines merit increases, and implements discipline according to operational policies</li><li>
Participates in clients' medical care, addresses and resolves all concerns regarding medical care or treatment by nursing staff</li><li>
Develops strategic initiatives, implements new or revised programs, policies and procedures and monitors outcome and results</li><li>
Ensures appropriate staffing levels and actively participate with Recruitment in the recruiting and hiring process</li><li>
Interprets policies and procedures and communicates understanding to nursing staff, and monitors staff practices and implementation</li><li>
Facilitates and/or participates in regularly scheduled team meetings, multi-disciplinary review meetings and facility leadership meetings</li><li>
Ensures quality assurance/improvement through audits and other data, submit/review incident reports for the Medical department</li><li>
Oversees all Nursing/Medical department expenses, approves expenses and purchases and assists with budget development and maintenance</li><li>
Maintains appropriate professional boundaries with current clients, family members, referrals sources and vendors</li><li>
Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director</li></ul>
 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities<ul><li>
Knowledge of current federal and state laws and regulations that apply to the practice of nursing</li><li>
Skill in organizational and time management and the ability to prioritize responsibilities</li><li>
Ability to make presentations before top management, public groups, and staff</li><li>
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions</li><li>
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret journals, financial reports, and legal documents</li><li>
Ability to demonstrate Practice-Based Client Care and Procedural Skills</li><li>
Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations</li><li>
Skill in intermediate MS Office and electronic medical records</li><li>
Skill in professional interaction and communication with clients</li><li>
Demonstrate proficiency with OSHA&rsquo;s Universal Precautions and the ability to train other staff members on those procedures</li><li>
Availability for alternate, evening and weekend shifts may be required to meet state and regulatory agency requirements and business necessity</li></ul>
 Job Qualifications and Requirements
 Education:
<ul><li>Bachelors in nursing required; Master&rsquo;s preferred</li></ul>
 Certifications:<ul><li>
Current RN licensure</li></ul>
 Experience:<ul><li>
5+ years&rsquo; experience in nursing management; Director of Nursing experience preferred</li></ul>
 Applicable State Requirements<ul><li>
Must meet pre-employment and maintain all applicable state and job related guidelines for background screening, fingerprinting, drug test, health screening, DMV, Insurance, CPR/Basic First Aid and license/credential verifications.</li></ul></div>
