 A private investment organization is seeking a Senior Accountant specializing in Accounts Payable to support the firm&rsquo;s accounting and financial operations. This role focuses on managing high-volume Accounts Payable activity across multiple entities while maintaining strict attention to detail, approvals, and internal controls. The position requires a professional who approaches Accounts Payable with a strong compliance mindset and a commitment to accuracy.
 
 
 
 
 
 The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of Accounts Payable operations within a Senior Accountant capacity, along with excellent organizational skills and the ability to operate in a highly confidential and detail-oriented environment.
 
 
 
 
 
 Responsibilities
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Oversee the accurate processing of high-volume Accounts Payable across multiple entities
 </li>
 <li>
 Review invoices and supporting documentation to confirm accuracy, approvals, and payment terms prior to processing
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure all payment approvals are properly documented in accordance with internal procedures
 </li>
 <li>
 Monitor transactions for discrepancies and escalate irregularities when necessary
 </li>
 <li>
 Maintain organized records and documentation related to Accounts Payable activity
 </li>
 <li>
 Assist with account reconciliations and support financial reporting needs
 </li>
 <li>
 Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders regarding invoices and payment inquiries
 </li>
 <li>
 Contribute to process improvements that strengthen efficiency and internal controls
 </li>
 <li>
 Support additional accounting tasks and operational projects as needed
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 
 
 
 Qualifications
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
 </li>
 <li>
 Approximately 5+ years of experience as a Senior Accountant or accounting professional with strong Accounts Payable responsibility
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience managing high-volume Accounts Payable environments
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience reviewing invoices against contracts, payment terms, and supporting documentation
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong understanding of internal controls and accounting processes
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience with Bill.com or similar Accounts Payable automation tools preferred
 </li>
 <li>
 Advanced Excel skills required
 </li>
 <li>
 Familiarity with expense management platforms and modern accounting systems is a plus
 </li>
 <li>
 Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial statements preferred
 </li>

 About the role and your impact:
 
 
 
 HR Policies and Compliance
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Ensure compliance with federal and state laws and company policies including on matters related to worker&rsquo;s compensation, wage and hour, and quarterly reporting
 </li>
 <li>
 Stay up-to-date on labor laws, compliance requirements, and industry trends
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure HR practices align with legal standards and make research- and data-driven recommendations for HR improvements
 </li>
 <li>
 Maintain HR data and generate reports for analysis
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 Employee Relations and Engagement
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Provide guidance and resolution regarding employee relations issues using a direct, friendly approach
 </li>
 <li>
 Coordinate employee onboarding and offboarding
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure employees&rsquo; completion of required trainings
 </li>
 <li>
 Support the performance appraisal process
 </li>
 <li>
 Assist with recruiting efforts as needed
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 Payroll Support
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Collaborate with payroll administrator and provide backup as needed
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure employee information is accurately recorded in ADP
 </li>
 <li>
 Understand commission structure and calculation
 </li>
 <li>
 Additional duties as assigned
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 
 
 
 
 What you&rsquo;ll bring:
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 5+ years of human resources experience
 </li>
 <li>
 HR certification (SHRM/PHR) required
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong understanding of HR compliance
 </li>
 <li>
 Prior payroll experience or understanding of payroll processes
 </li>
 <li>
 Proficiency with MS Office (including Excel)
 </li>
 </ul>
