We are seeking an engaged and experienced General Mechanic (Hotel Engineer) to join our Engineering Team in providing exceptional customer service and exceptional experiences to our guests</p><p>
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:</p><ul><li><p>
Ability to build ensure professional and informative interactions with all guests and staff members alike</p></li><li><div>
Precisely and effectively complete all allocated work orders every day or report inadequate orders to the Director for rescheduling</div></li><li><div>
Comply with Hotel processes to effectively perform all maintenance, installation, or repair as needed</div></li><li><div>
Experienced with Painting, Spackle, Light plumbing and electrical</div></li><li><div>
Ability to use ladders of different styles; complete work at elevated areas</div></li><li><div>
Complete tasks on/around rooftop areas, chillers, water towers, etc.</div></li><li><div>
Strong working knowledge of hand and power tools</div></li><li><div>
Working in tight spaces</div></li><li><div>
Ensure all hotel equipment is maintained and repaired as needed for full functionality</div></li><li><div>
Follow the most recent state and government legislative codes, laws, and prerequisites</div></li><li><div>
Identifying issues, creating or providing solutions, take actions to ensure that guest- related issues are resolved promptly once received, and provide the best possible outcome for guest satisfaction</div></li><li><div>
Ensure daily before shift ends to fill out engineering reports to record all that was completed on your shift or pass-on information for the next shift</div></li><li><div>
Ensuring all job requests from all areas of the hotel are responded to in a timely and effective manner.</div></li><li><div>
Collaborate with different departments like carpenter, electricians, overnight engineers, painter&rsquo;s, outsourced contractors in finalizing, changing, altering, remodeling, fixing any area of the Hotel</div></li><li><div>
Follow all safety guidelines of a fire safety director in the case of an emergencies</div></li><li><div>
Ensure FSD logbooks are always up to date with current activities of the hotel</div></li><li><div>
In case of emergencies, communicate with the fire department and monitor fire command station</div></li><li><div>
Make announcements to the building in case of false alarms, tests or real emergencies as a FSD</div></li><li><div>
Ensure boiler cleaning logs are always up to date and cleaned as necessary according to boiler guidelines</div></li><li><div>
Precisely record equipment readings, meter readings and keep up exact logs in a clear and legible way</div></li><li><div>
Ensure that guest room preventative maintenance is done according to procedures set forth by the Chief engineer whether weekly, monthly, or quarterly</div></li><li><p>
Ensure guest room and public area filters are changed frequently as instructed by the Director</p></li></ul><p>
Job Requirements</p><ul><li><p>
Previous hotel engineering experience preferred</p></li><li><div>
At least 2 years of Hotel Engineering experience, preferably in a New York City Hotel</div></li><li><div>
Strong working knowledge mechanical systems, painting/spackling light plumbing and light electrical</div></li><li><div>
Great communication skills, professional demeanor and appearance</div></li><li><div>
Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and concentrate on detail in a fast-paced work environment</div></li><li><div>
Must be able to follow basic safety procedures and precautions due to physical risks</div></li><li><div>
Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal</div></li><li><div>
Able to work in a team environment and welcome feedback and direction</div></li><li><div>
Capable of standing for prolonged periods of time</div></li><li><div>
Ability to frequently reach, bend, stoop, climb up and down stairs, walk, and carry multiple objects</div></li><li><p>
Flexible schedule to include day shift, night shift, weekends and holidays</p></li></ul><p>
Preferred Qualifications</p><ul><li><p>

U.S. Citizenship/Work Authorization required</div></li><li><div>
2-3 years of experience as an engineer working in the service industry</div></li><li><div>
FSD Certification a plus</div></li><li><div>
Verbal and Written communication skills</div></li><li><div>
Be able to speak, write and understand the primary language of the workplace</div></li><li><div>
Ability to lift, push or pull 50 pounds</div></li><li><div>
Proficiency in MS Office and possess basic computer skills</div></li><li><p>
Be able to work Flexible shift if needed</p></li></ul><p>
Education:</p><ul><li><p>
High school or equivalent (Required)</p></li><li><p>
2 Year/ 4 Year Degree from an accredited College/University (Preferred)</p></li></ul><p>
License/Certification:</p><ul><li><p>
Relevant Advanced trainings and certifications preferred</p></li><li><p>
FSD certification</p></li></ul><p><b>
