<div><h3 class="jobSectionHeader">The <b>WORKERS' COMPENSATION AND DISABILITY ASSOCIATE</b> supports the injury and disability needs of all Providence Public Schools staff. This role serves as a liaison with legal and medical offices and processes all workers&rsquo; compensation and long-term disability matters. The associate ensures that cases are handled accurately, in compliance with regulations, and in a timely manner.</h3><p>
Work is assigned with clear instructions and is reviewed by the supervisor for completeness and accuracy.</p><p></p><p><br>
We serve approximately 22,000 students at 37 elementary, middle, and high schools. Approximately 55% of students come from homes where English is not the primary language spoken. Combined, our students and families speak over 55 different languages and hail from 91 countries of origin.</p><p><br>

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:</b></h3><ul><li>
High School Diploma or GED required</li><li>
Minimum one year of high-volume HR experience</li><li>
College degree preferred</li><li>
Valid adjuster license preferred</li><li>
Familiarity with HR databases (Lawson, Frontline preferred)</li><li>
Experience with DLT reporting platform and reviewing medical reports</li><li>
Knowledge of workers&rsquo; compensation law and procedures</li><li>
Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills</li><li>
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; typing and phone skills required</li><li>
Medical coding experience preferred</li><li>
Ability to maintain confidentiality</li><li>

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</b></h3><p><i>
Processing, Compliance, and Support</i></p><ul><li>
Review and analyze workers&rsquo; compensation cases</li><li>
Communicate with employees, doctors, and attorneys</li><li>
Serve as liaison with legal counsel and PPSD attorney</li><li>
Prepare and file legal documents with the Department of Labor and Training</li><li>
Maintain accurate logs of cases, claims, and disability forms</li><li>
Manage correspondence, deadlines, and compliance timelines</li></ul><p><i><br>
Analysis, Payment, and Compliance</i></p><ul><li>
Coordinate medical treatment and process payments</li><li>
Review medical reports for discrepancies</li><li>
Ensure billing compliance with WC fee schedules</li><li>
Code and process medical bills</li><li>
Schedule and prepare for independent medical exams (IMEs)</li><li>
Update vendor records in Lawson</li><li>
Track litigation, settlements, and compliance deadlines<br>
