We focus on accuracy, accountability, and real results.About the RoleWe are seeking a detail-oriented Construction Accountant to manage project-level financials, ensure accurate job costing, and handle construction-specific billing and compliance. The ideal candidate understands progress billings, retainage, and lien waivers.This is a full-time position. We are not looking to hire self-employed consultants or freelance bookkeepers. This is a fully remote position. To be considered, your resume must be written in English.What You&rsquo;ll Do<ul><li>Perform job costing for multiple active projects, tracking labor, materials, subcontractors, and equipment.</li><li>Prepare progress billings (AIA documents, schedule of values) and manage retainage receivables/payables.</li><li>Reconcile over/under billings and report work-in-progress (WIP) accurately.</li><li>Process subcontractor pay applications, collect lien waivers, and ensure compliance with notices of commencement.</li><li>Manage equipment &amp; fleet accounting (depreciation, internal rentals, fuel, maintenance).</li><li>Assist with monthly bank reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger entries.</li><li>Support project managers with real-time cost-to-complete reports and variance analysis.</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in construction, trades, or real estate development.</li><li>Proficiency with construction ERP &amp; accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, BuildTrend, Sage 300 CRE, Foundation, Viewpoint, or Procore).</li><li>Solid understanding of job cost ledgers, WIP schedules, and percentage-of-completion (POC) accounting.</li><li>Familiarity with lien laws, retainage rules, and AIA billing documents.</li><li>Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).</li></ul>Preferred:<ul><li>Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.</li><li>Experience with payroll, certified payroll reporting, or equipment fleet management.</li></ul>Work Setup: Fully Remote (Work From Home)Schedule: US Arizona TimeJob Type: Independent Contractor | Full-Time<ul><li>Send me an email: admin@pivot-solutions.com</li></ul>Pay: $12.00 - $21.00 per hourApplication Question(s):<ul><li>Do you have a computer/laptop and an extra monitor?</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>Construction: 2 years (Required)</li><li>Accounting: 2 years (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: Remote
