</p><div><div><b>BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB</b></div></div><br>
<p>
Under the direction of the Director of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine PET/CT Technologist, performs Nuclear Medicine &amp; PET/CT procedures to produce images to assist physicians with a medical diagnosis, while complying with safety and regulatory requirements.
</p><div><div><b>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</b><br>
Essential functions are critical or fundamental to the performance of the job. They are the major functions for which the person in the job is held accountable. The following are the essential functions of the job.</div></div><p><b><br>
Duties:</b></p><ul><li>
Manages and maintains all aspects of the Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT Departments, including dose ordering, state compliance, inspections, training, staff management, etc.</li><li>
Ensures adequate training of all NUC/PET employees.</li><li>
Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals.</li><li>
Performs patient imaging procedures using radiation-detecting instrumentation following ACR and state regulations.
</li><li>Initiates, maintains, and discontinues IV access.</li><li>
Oversees the administering of contrast agents and radiopharmaceuticals.</li><li>
Responsible for compliance in assigned oversight areas within imaging. Modality to be in compliance with state/federal radiation control/safety ACR guidelines with training, protocols/procedures, and competency.</li><li>
Prepares images, data analysis, and patient information to the Radiologist for diagnostic interpretation.</li><li>
Performs and monitors daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual QC as required.
</li><li>Calculates, measures, and records radiation dosage or radiopharmaceuticals received, used, and disposed of in compliance with the Nevada Radioactive Materials License RAM and the American College of Radiology (ACR).</li><li>
Assists the Radiation Safety Officer with monitoring and posting monthly radiation exposure rates for the staff.</li><li>
Educates and ensures all Imaging department staff complies with As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) principles.</li><li>
Maintains stock supplies and assists administrators in determining quantities for purchase, performs general office duties such as recording procedure codes for billing purposes, typing forms, and scheduling patients.</li><li>
Assess and document the patient&rsquo;s condition to determine proper handling and special requirements.</li><li>
Ensure positive experience for the patient and uphold company objective for patient satisfaction.
</li><li>Check referrals for physician notes and/or special instructions.
</li><li>Instruct and assist patients in preps and physical positions for appropriate tests.
</li><li>Administer contrast materials as necessary. Recognize and respond to hypersensitivity or allergic reactions.
</li><li>Adhere to procedure protocols as established by the Medical Director and the RSO.
</li><li>Enforce Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT radiation safety procedures to provide a safe environment for patients and staff.
</li><li>Maintain facility equipment/rooms in proper working condition. Report malfunctions and necessary repairs to the Radiology Tech Manager.</li><li>
Work closely with Director of Radiology and CEO to assist with various duties as needed at the outpatient facility.
</li><li>Train and support peers and new team members, sharing knowledge, demonstrating best practices, and ensuring consistency in processes across the department.
</li><li>Performs other duties and/or special projects as assigned.
</li></ul><div><div><b>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS</b></div></div><br>
<ul><li>
2-5 years of previous Nuclear Medicine/PET CT experience. Multiple experiences/modalities preferred.</li><li>
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-N) or the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB)</li><li>
Proficient in all rules, regulations, and requirements within both the Nevada Radioactive Materials License and the American College of Radiology (ACR)</li><li>
Ability to do essential job duties.</li><li>
Ability to read, understand, speak, and follow English instructions. Bilingual preferred.</li><li>
Display superior interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients and peers.</li><li>
Possess superior knowledge of Nuclear Medicine procedures and techniques.
</li><li>Must have complete competency in standard precautions, aseptic technique, venipuncture, and contrast administration.</li></ul><div><div><b>

Standing - This position frequently requires standing for frequently for patient assessment, positioning patient for procedure, communicating with all facility personnel, faxing, copying and completing other job-related duties.</li><li>
Walking - This position consistently requires walking short distances of up to 100 yards to communicate with patients, staff, doctors, vendors, and direct report.</li><li>
Sitting - This position consistently requires sitting to configure and enter data needed for electronic medical charts, diagnostic procedures on a RIS and PACS computer system and other essential job duties.</li><li>
Lifting - This position consistently requires lifting objects weighing a minimum of 50 lbs. to carry out essential job duties and deal with patients with physical disabilities and/or disorders.</li><li>
Carrying - This position occasionally requires carrying objects weighing up a maximum of 50 lbs. for short distances to carry out essential job-related duties.</li><li>
Pushing - This position occasionally requires pushing objects weighing a maximum of 50 lbs.</li><li>
Pulling - This position occasionally requires pulling objects weighing a maximum of 50 lbs. to assist patients while at the facility for a required procedure and/or perform various job related functions.</li><li>
Reaching - This position frequently requires reaching with hands and arms approximately 3 ft. all directions to assist patients while at the facility for a required procedure and/or perform various job-related functions.</li><li>

<b>Explanation:</b> This position has access to confidential information such as social security numbers, dates of birth, and HIPAA information for all patients seen at the outpatient facility.<br>

Is it important to this position the incumbent be able to read, write and communicate fluently in English?</b> Yes<br>
<b>Explanation:</b> A majority of affiliated personnel and patients communicate with our business in English. Bilingual abilities are preferred.<br>
<br>
<b>What kind of work experience (including length of time), training, and/or level of education is necessary for this position? </b>This position requires a minimum of 2-5 years of previous Nuclear Medicine experience. ARRT license or ACR accreditation requirements must be met for all modalities performed. Experience and certification in multiple modalities are preferred.</p><p><b>
List any technical skills (typing, computer skills, etc.):</b> The skills required by this position include, but are not limited to, typing, computer literacy, faxing, scanning, copying, and knowledge of data entry on a RIS and PACS system.<br>

<b>List other special training and/or abilities are necessary to qualify for this position: </b>The person that fills this position must be able to read, write, understand and interpret reports and correspondence in English. The individual must have problem solving and analytical skills to interpret physician requests and relay procedure results to facility physicians. The candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills needed for daily interpersonal communication<br>
with patients, staff, vendors, doctors, and direct report.</p><p><b>
Working Conditions</b></p><p><b>
Are there particular working conditions associated with this position that should be noted (i.e., working environment, hours of work, travel, work space, etc.)? </b>Yes<br>
<b>Explanation:</b> The working environment is in a medical office setting that can be moderately loud at times because of the machinery. This position will carry out his/her duties in an average sized workspace. This position requires traveling to all Company facilities. The hours of work may vary depending on the necessity of the facility. Working overtime and weekends may be required.</p></div>
