 Responsibilities :
 
 
 
 
 
 <ol>

 The ideal candidate should have proven experience of running and managing the day-to-day business operations of
 
 Property, Engineering &amp; Casualty underwriting in a large general insurance company.
 
 </li>
 <li>
 Lead a team of Underwriting Managers, Assistant Underwriting Manager, Underwriting officers in day-to-day supervision and mentoring on the department&rsquo;s underwriting operations.
 </li>
 <li>
 Maintain, manage and develop relationships with new/existing corporate clients and brokers in Property, Engineering, Casualty and General Accident insurance products to achieve stickiness, business retention, profitable growth and superior service delivery.
 </li>
 <li>
 Job responsibility includes liaising with various cross functional departments viz. reinsurance, claims, actuarial, finance, accounts, legal, compliance for smooth running of the business.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ideal candidate is expected to have very good relationship in the reinsurance markets with leading reinsurance brokers and underwriters in London, DIFC and Singapore which would facilitate to obtain competitive reinsurance terms and placement support.
 </li>
 <li>
 Job includes underwriting of good quality risks in line with the assigned underwriting authority including arranging facultative reinsurance where required and review of policy &amp; endorsement wordings &amp; contracts, ensuring technical accuracy of all transactions within the department in line with treaty and facultative reinsurance conditions and operations &amp; authorities manual, handling audit queries, tracking of timeliness of documentation flow, supporting digitization efforts of the business operations and MIS reporting.
 </li>

 Assessment of risks and releasing quotations in line with the Company&rsquo;s underwriting guidelines and reinsurance arrangement.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to lead negotiations on major deals with Clients and Insurance Brokers.
 </li>
 <li>
 Responsible for achieving annual department objectives with respect to topline growth and bottom-line profitability.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure compliance with existing underwriting guidelines, processes and audit requirements
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills, tactful and ability to handle pressure should be the key qualities of the candidate.
 </li>
 <li>
 An ideal candidate should have excellent technical knowledge, superior negotiation skills and proven leadership ability.
 </li>
 <li>
 Must have good analytical ability to understand and handle complex insurance programs.
 </li>

 Educational and technical Qualifications:
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 BTech/Engineering graduates will be preferred
 </li>
 <li>
 ACII or Dip CII or FIII are the minimum insurance qualification requirement
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 
 
 
 
 Experience:
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Minimum 15 years&rsquo; experience in multi-line product underwriting with a major focus on Property &amp; Engineering. Additional experience in Casualty, Liability and General Accident lines would be preferred.
 </li>
 <li>
 Out of the total work experience minimum 10 years should be in a leadership role with the experience of managing a team of Underwriting Managers, Assistant Underwriting Managers and Underwriting Officer level of not less than 10 members.
 </li>
 <li>
 Demonstrate ability to manage large portfolios in a profitable manner over a significant period.
 </li>
 <li>
 People with less than 7 years&rsquo; vintage in their current organization should not apply.
 </li>
 <li>
 GCC experience most preferred
 </li>
 <li>
 
 The ideal candidate should be under 40 years old.

Lead Manager - Underwriting (P&C)

 Key Responsibilities
 
 
 
 
 <ul>

 Management &amp; Executive Reporting: Prepare financial reports highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs) such as premiums, claims ratios, loss ratios, and profitability metrics. Present findings and recommendations to senior management in a clear and concise manner. &bull;
 </li>
 <li>
 Pricing Product Profitability Support: Collaborate with the pricing and actuarial teams to evaluate and refine pricing strategies for new or existing products. Conduct financial modelling and profitability analysis for new and existing products, ensuring pricing is competitive yet sustainable. Provide data-driven recommendations on premium rates and product pricing based on claims experience and market trends.
 </li>
 <li>
 Claims &amp; loss Analysis: Analyze claims data to identify trends, cost drivers, and anomalies. Track claims frequency, severity, and cost inflation to assess their impact on financial results.
 </li>
 <li>
 Reinsurance &amp; Capital Management: Assess the financial impact of reinsurance structures (quota share, surplus, XL) on net results and capital position.
 </li>
 <li>
 Strategic Financial Insights: Support in strategic planning by providing scenario analysis and financial impact assessments. Evaluate the financial viability of new initiatives (e.g. launching a new insurance product, entering a new market segment, or adjusting policy terms) through detailed analysis and forecasting.
 </li>
 <li>
 Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams &mdash; including Underwriting, Actuarial and finance &mdash; to align financial analysis with business strategies.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ad-hoc Analysis: Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as requested. This could include deep dives into specific cost centers, evaluating the impact of regulatory changes, or analyzing competitive financial data in the market to guide decision-making.
 </li>
 <li>
 Must liaise with actuarial, underwriting, reinsurance, risk, and finance teams to deliver timely insights that underpin profitable growth and capital efficiency in line with global best practice and the evolving regulatory landscape

 Required Qualifications:
 
 
 <ul>

 Education: Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Actuarial Science, or related discipline.
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience: 3&ndash;5 years of relevant experience in financial analysis or planning, with prior experience in the general insurance (required).
 </li>
 <li>
 
 Technical Expertise: Solid understanding of insurance industry finance and terminology. Strong grasp of insurance financial statements, key ratios (combined, loss, expense), and solvency concepts; proficiency in IFRS-17 fundamentals.
 
 </li>
 <li>
 
 Analytical Proficiency: Advanced Excel (modelling, pivot tables, Power Query) and solid SQL or equivalent data-wrangling capability, power BI tools.
 
 </li>
 <li>
 Communication: Effective communication and presentation skills. Able to translate financial analysis and technical details into business insights and clearly convey recommendations to non-financial stakeholders, including senior management.
 </li>

 Preferred Qualifications:

 Master&rsquo;s degree (MBA/Finance) or professional designation (CFA, CPA, CII, or actuarial exams in progress).
 </li>
 <li>
 Exposure to global insurance markets (e.g., Lloyd&rsquo;s, European, Asian, or North American) and familiarity with rating-agency frameworks (AM Best, S&amp;P).
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience with business-intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau) and cloud-based data platforms.
 </li>
 <li>
 Working knowledge of Solvency II, Bermuda Solvency Capital Requirement, or equivalent regimes.
 </li>
 <li>
 Fluency in English required; Arabic is advantageous
