Position Summary
 The Manufacturing Buyer II is responsible for procuring materials, components, equipment, and services required to support production operations. This mid-level role focuses on supplier management, cost control, material planning, and ensuring that purchased goods meet quality, delivery, and compliance requirements. The Buyer II works closely with production, planning, engineering, and quality teams to maintain an efficient supply chain.
 Key Responsibilities
 
Purchasing& Procurement
 
<ul>
<li>Source, negotiate, and issue purchase orders for raw materials, components, and indirect supplies.</li>
<li>Ensure materials are ordered at the right price, quantity, quality, and lead time.</li>
<li>Analyze purchase requisitions and interpret specifications/technical requirements.</li>
<li>Conduct cost analysis and support cost-reduction initiatives.</li>
</ul>
Supplier Management
 
<ul>
<li>Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and performance.</li>
<li>Maintain ongoing communication with suppliers regarding order status, changes, and delivery issues.</li>
<li>Resolve pricing discrepancies, invoicing errors, and non-conforming material issues.</li>
<li>Support supplier audits and performance reviews.</li>
</ul>
Planning& Coordination
 
<ul>
<li>Work with production control and planning to forecast material needs.</li>
<li>Monitor inventory levels and safety stock to avoid shortages or excess.</li>
<li>Expedite orders to prevent production delays and manage backorders.</li>
</ul>
Compliance& Documentation
 
<ul>
<li>Ensure adherence to company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.</li>
<li>Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier documentation, and ERP system data.</li>
<li>Support internal and external audits.</li>
</ul>
Continuous Improvement
 
<ul>
<li>Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes and supply chain efficiency.</li>
<li>Participate in cross-functional projects focused on lean manufacturing and operational excellence.</li>
</ul>
Required Qualifications
 
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field (or equivalent experience).</li>
<li>2–4+ years of purchasing or supply chain experience, preferably in manufacturing.</li>
<li>Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar).</li>
<li>Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.</li>
<li>Ability to read technical drawings and specifications (preferred).</li>
<li>Solid understanding of procurement best practices and supply chain concepts.</li>
</ul>
Preferred Qualifications
 
<ul>
<li>APICS, CPIM, CPSM, or similar supply chain certification.</li>
<li>Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives.</li>
<li>Knowledge of ISO, AS9100, or other quality systems (industry-specific).</li>
</ul>

Procurement professional experienced in developing and executing global category strategies and preparing, negotiating, managing, and coordinating agreements for Facility Services.
 
Leads the collaboration with business and functional leadership in the establishment and execution of contracts, sourcing projects& value creation strategies for the corporation.
 
Leads supplier relationship management initiatives for key service suppliers. Identifies and drives continuous improvement& TCO opportunities. Oversees contract implementation and supplierperformance/interaction; leads to resolution of operational issues.
 
Tasks& Responsibilities
 
<ul>
<li>Utilize category management levers and practices to develop and implement global category strategies.</li>
<li>Act as a change agent within the procurement organization, challenging the status quo, driving improvements, and fostering value creation.</li>
<li>Build strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure performance.</li>
<li>Collaboration with business and functional leadership in the establishment and execution of value creation strategies.</li>
<li>Implement supplier relationship management strategies to build strong partnerships, secure favorable contracts, and maximize supplier performance.</li>
<li>Ensure adherence to Qnity policies and internal controls.</li>
<li>Monitor supply risks and develop mitigation strategies.</li>
</ul>
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities
 
<ul>
<li>Understands market dynamics, utility rates, regulation/deregulation, etc. that impact category</li>
<li>Strong problem solving and strategic analysis skills. Able to conduct complex analysis such us TCO, EVC, NPV</li>
<li>Ability to manage multiple project tasks and quickly initiate changes in plan when appropriate</li>
<li>Ability to translate implications from analysis into preliminary recommendations</li>
<li>Strong influence& communication skills</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to drive/deliver results</li>
<li>Strong sourcing expertise and experienced in buy category</li>
<li>High ethical standards</li>
</ul>
Education/Experience
 
<ul>
<li>Supply Chain, Business or related field preferred</li>
<li>3+ years demonstrated procurement experience required</li>
<li>Experience in negotiating agreements/contracts with strong comprehension of legal and commercial terms</li>
<li>Advanced experience in Microsoft Office products.</li>
<li>Strong bias for decision-making rooted in data and analytics</li>
<li>Knowledge of project management and Six Sigma methodologies preferred but not required</li>
