Trailer Mechanic/Welder Duties/Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Diagnose and repair tractors and trailers.</li>
<li>Perform annual/systematic 90 day inspections (trailers) on equipment as required.</li>
<li>Ensure equipment meets Federal FHWA standards.</li>
<li>Operate a yard hostler truck to move trailers within the facility yard and the shop as needed.</li>
<li>Order and receive parts and supplies as needed.</li>
<li>Adheres to all established safety (OSHA) and environmental policies and standards to include identification, use, and proper procedures for handling or disposal of hazardous waste.</li>
<li>Clean, organize and maintain the work environment to ensure equipment longevity and workplace safety.</li>
<li>Using welding equipment.</li>
<li>Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.</li></ul> 


Trailer Mechanic/Welder Required Skills/Abilities:
<ul>
<li>Able to learn and demonstrate vehicle and equipment theory, principles and repair relating to diesel engines, air, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.</li>
<li>Able to learn and demonstrate tractor and trailer maintenance, DOT rules and regulations, company policies and procedures.</li>
<li>R-Stamp Certified (Able to weld 2G, 3G, 4G and other welding needs on equipment)</li></ul> 


Preferred Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Required (High school diploma, completion of G.E.D., or equivalent vocational school preferred)</li>
<li>Experience diagnosing and repairing tractors and trailers.</li>
<li>Experience with TIG welding.</li>
<li>Dynamic, ambitious and engaged team player.</li>
