Job SummaryThe Optometrist will be responsible for providing high-quality vision care services, conducting detailed eye examinations, assisting in OPD operations, managing patient counselling, and supporting the ophthalmologist during procedures. The role focuses on delivering accurate diagnostics, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining clinical standards.2. Daily Workflow SOP1. Pre-OPD Preparation (Before Patients Arrive)<ul><li>Switch on and calibrate ophthalmic equipment (AR, Slit Lamp, NCT).</li><li>Ensure cleanliness and sterilisation of lenses, trial sets, occluders, chinrests.</li><li>Check availability of patient forms, consent forms, and diagnostic sheets.</li><li>Review OPD schedule and prepare the day&rsquo;s patient list.</li></ul>2. Patient Examination ProcessStep 1: Patient Registration &amp; History<ul><li>Verify patient details through the front desk.</li><li>Take medical &amp; ocular history (glasses, contact lenses, systemic issues).</li></ul>Step 2: Visual Examination<ul><li>Conduct visual acuity test for both eyes.</li><li>Perform objective and subjective refraction.</li><li>Perform tests:</li><li>Slit lamp evaluation</li><li>Tonometry</li><li>Retinoscopy</li><li>Fundus screening (if required)</li></ul>Step 3: Diagnosis &amp; Recording<ul><li>Document findings in EMR / manual record.</li><li>Highlight abnormalities for ophthalmologist review.</li></ul>Step 4: Patient Counselling<ul><li>Explain diagnosis, refractive error, and treatment recommendations.</li><li>Educate on lens options, contact lens hygiene, post-procedure care.</li></ul>Step 5: Referral to Ophthalmologist<ul><li>Refer cases needing medical/surgical intervention.</li></ul>B.
